About this Scholarship
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme 2026-2027 is a joint initiative between the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC) and participating UK universities. The scheme offers financial support to talented students from developing Commonwealth countries, including India, who wish to pursue full-time Master's degree studies in the UK.
Designed to support individuals who show potential to drive positive change in their home countries, the program provides comprehensive funding to cover tuition and living expenses, enabling scholars to gain advanced knowledge and skills across key development-focused fields.
Eligibility Criteria
- Citizenship & Residency: Be a citizen of or have been granted refugee status by an eligible Commonwealth country, and be permanently resident in an eligible Commonwealth country.
- Academic Start: Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2024.
- Academic Qualifications: By September 2024, hold a first degree of at least upper second-class (2:1) honours standard, or a lower second-class degree and a relevant postgraduate qualification (usually a Master’s degree).
- Prior International Experience: Not have studied or worked for more than one (academic) year or more in a high-income country.
- Financial Need: Be unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
- Documentation: Have provided all supporting documentation in the required format.
