See why Indian students should choose FAU Germany -
- FAU Rankings: Known as one of the oldest and largest universities in Germany, the FAU QS ranking for 2027 is #218 globally which is an improvement from last year. Physics and Astronomy are the two most popular streams for Indian MS applicants. They have both been placed in the QS rankings.
- English Taught Courses: You may find it interesting to know that FAU offers the MSc in Artificial Intelligence which is one of very limited fully English-taught AI master's in whole Germany. That too, at a public university and no cost. Also, this program is directly listed in DAAD international database which makes it eligible for DAAD funding (living costs and semester contribution). India is among the top 3 nationalities to receive DAAD so apply now.
- Placements: If an Indian student does decide to go further with FAU admissions, they would be studying within a 30-minute walking distance of Siemens' and Adidas' global headquarters, which gives them a location advantage. Companies like BMW Group, Adidas, Deloitte, and Bosch hire FAU grads.
- APS Requirement: The FAU Germany application process is changed a little since 2022. All Indian students are required to get an APS Certificate before their admission applications are processed. It verifies whether your Indian credentials meet the German Anabin standards or not. It takes around 5 to 10 weeks to process, so applying before 10 to 12 months is critical.
- Germany Post Study Work Visa: After completing your degree at FAU in Germany, Indian students can get an 18-month job seeker residence permit. The students can work full-time during this time and once you have enough experience and German B2 proficiency, you can get an EU Blue Card which gives you access to work and live in all European Union countries.
- Acceptance Rate: The FAU Erlangen acceptance rate is around 46% (unofficial source).
German Public University applications are tricky which is why Shiksha has prepared a FREE PDF for Indian students guiding them in detail; Download it here: Full application process to German Universities .
