History

Polimi University was founded in 1863 by Francesco Brioschi. The first graduates of this university graduates in 1865. An increase in the enrollment of students was in the second half of the 1960s. An Industrial program was started in 1993. Then, in 2012, this university announced that from 2014 all the PG courses would be taught only in English. In 2019, XJTU-POLIMI Joint School has been opened in Xi'an, China. This school is a joint school of Polimi University and Xi'an Jiaotong University.
