International students who wish to study in Poland and want to avoid costs of education can apply for various scholarships which either exempt them from paying a tuition fee or serve as a financial support in covering their living expenses in Lodz.

Candidates of Polish origin are eligible to apply for The Gen. Anders scholarship in order to start their 1st (Bachelor) and 2nd (Master) degree studies, which are full-time programmes in the Polish language. Approved candidates may participate in one-year preparatory course before the beginning of their studies.

Candidates applying for The Gen. Anders Programme supervised by the Government of the Republic of Poland apply for it through Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange online platform. Those awarded The Gen. Anders scholarship may receive the following benefits in the course of their education in the Republic of Poland on a one-time basis: • relocation allowance during the first year of studies, • hardship allowance, • allowance for diploma thesis preparation.

Candidates who are not of Polish origin origin may, at the appropriate Polish Embassy, obtain information on inter-governmental agreements, thanks to which students are entitled to receive co-financing or commence studies without fees and scholarship benefits (free-of-charge studies). As for now such agreements are available with China, Mongolia, Taiwan and Vietnam.

Other scholarship programmes held by Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA):

Two existing scholarship programmes have now become a joint initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Agency for Academic Exchange NAWA in the form of Polish development aid, i.e. the Banach Scholarship Programme and the Lukasiewicz Scholarship Programme, are merged into one scholarship programme for young people from developing countries who wish to take up studies in Poland.

The NAWA scholarship may be applied for by citizens of the following countries: Albania, Angola, Argentina, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Colombia, Ethiopia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kosovo, Lebanon, Mexico, Moldova, Montenegro, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Palestine, Peru, the Philippines, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, Tanzania, Tunisia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Vietnam.

Scholarships offered within the programme include free 2nd degree studies (Master studies). Students who successfully qualify will continue their education in Poland in the selected fields of science: engineering and technical sciences, agricultural sciences, exact sciences and life sciences preceded by a year-long preparation course for taking up studies in Poland or studies in English without preparatory year.
