<h2>Degree Structure at BITS Pilani</h2>
<p>BITS Pilani offers first-tier degrees with nomenclature such as B.E., B.Pharm., M.M.S (Master of Management Studies), M.Sc., and M.Sc. (Tech.). These degrees are level-wise equivalent.</p>
<p>These are considered integrated degrees for two reasons:</p>
<ul>
<li>The degree program includes several cross-disciplinary common courses such as basic math and science.</li>
<li>No intermediate degree, like B.Sc., B.Sc. (Hons.), B.A., B.A. (Hons), etc., is awarded.</li>
</ul>
<p>These degrees are modular in structure. Academic requirements are spelt out in terms of the number of courses studied rather than the number of years.</p>
<h2>Duration and Flexibility</h2>
<p>All programmes are designed to facilitate completion within eight semesters. The flexible academic policy gives students the option to complete their degree at a faster pace, finishing earlier than 8 semesters.</p>
<p>Students can also choose a slower pace and finish later than 8 semesters.</p>
<h2>Recent Updates and Achievements</h2>
<p>Prof. Anupam Singhal has achieved a remarkable milestone. This is a proud moment for the Department of Civil Engineering, BITS Pilani.</p>
<p>BITS Pilani students have secured 3rd Place at the global Meta Horizon Creator Competition.</p>
<p>A Summer School is being held at BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus under the Indian Women and Mathematics (IWM) program.</p>
<p>BITS Pilani offers a Joint PhD Program with La Trobe University (Australia).</p>
<p>Applications are open for the Joint PhD Programme 2026 between BITS Pilani and IISER Tirupati.</p>
<p>Prof. R. Srinivas has received an international research grant.</p>
