The ISC Class 12th exam 2026 is ongoing from February 12 and will conclude on April 06, 2026. The first paper, Psychology, was found to be easy to moderate. According to students' reaction, the case study-based questions in Section B were lengthy and the most difficult part of the paper.

With Psychology, other subjects like Art, Home Science, Accounts, and English Paper-1 & Paper-2 are already done. The 12th ISC exam 2026 will end with a Geography subject on April 06, 2026.

  • The next paper, Mass Media & Communication, is scheduled on 21st February in the evening shift (2:00-5:00 PM).

ISC Class 12 Registration 2026 will begin in the first week of November 2025. The ISC registration process is compulsory for all the students appearing for ISC Class 12 Exams 2026. ISC registration for theory and practical exams shall be done at once. Candidates are required to pay the registration fee of Rs. 1500 to complete the registration process.

Steps to Fill ISC Class 12 Registration Form 2026?

Students can not register by themselves on the official website for ISC Class 12 Exams. They need to submit their details to the school authorities. The procedure mentioned below is for the school authority to submit the ISC Registration Form 2026 of their students.

Step 1: School authorities need to visit CISCE careers portal – careers.cisce.org.

Step 2: Enter ‘User Name’ and ‘Password’ and then click on the ‘Login’ button.

Step 3: Then click on the ‘e-Registration’ option on the homepage.

Step 4: Now in the menu bar, go to ISC option, and from the dropdown select ‘Registration’.

Step 5: ISC registration activation screen will appear. Select ‘yes’ and click finish at the bottom of the screen.

Step 6: Carefully read the registration instructions and check-mark the option – ‘I have read and understood the above instructions’. Click on ‘proceed’.

Step 7: Now follow the steps below to register as a new candidate -

  • Enter the required details on the student details screen.
  • Upload the students’ passport-size coloured-photograph in school uniform with a white background.
  • Scan and upload the signature of the student.
  • In the “Comments to the Principal” text box, enter comments (if any).
  • Now there are three options - ‘Save’,’Save & Continue’, and ‘Submit to Principal’.
  • On clicking the ‘Save’ option, the data will be saved in the system and a confirmation message will appear on the screen. The screen is now ready for ‘Student Review’.
  • If you click ‘Save & Continue’ after entering all the required details and uploading required documents, the data will be saved in the system.
  • The ‘Submit to Principal’ button will save the data in the system and the screen will be ready for ‘Principal Review’.

ISC Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025: The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations has announced the exam pattern for the ISC Class 12 examination in 2025. Understanding the examination structure and format will undoubtedly play a crucial role in ensuring success in the upcoming ISC examinations. As per the new pattern, there will be an increase in questions based on understanding and critical thinking in ISC Class 12 Exams 2024. The changes in the question paper pattern are introduced in accordance with NEP 2020.
  • From 2024 onwards, the ISC Class 12 Question Paper will contain HOTS (High Order Thinking Skills) and critical analysis questions.
  • CISCE has advised schools to also include these types of questions in regular assessments.

However, the board has not announced any changes in the marking scheme or ISC Class 12 Syllabus 2024-25. The total marks for each subject will be 100. Depending upon the subject, the total marks will be further divided into theory and project/practical work. Students will get 3 hours to write the exam.

In ISC Class 12, students must score at least 35% marks to be declared pass. They must pass in each subject as well as in aggregate to obtain the pass certificate. Candidates who fail in any subject in Class 12 can appear for ISC Class 12 Improvement Exams. Only students who pass English and any other two subjects can take compartment exams.

ISC Class 12 Grading System 2025

The grading system for the ISC Class 12 Exam is a nine-numbered grading scale, where 9 is the lowest and 1 is the highest. Students have to secure 7, which is the minimum passing grade to get the passing certificate. Only Grades 1 to 7 are recorded on certificates. The interpretation of the grades is as follows:

Internal Assessment

The internal assessment is calculated based on the performance of SUPW and COMMUNITY SERVICE. SUPW stands for Socially Useful Productive Work, of which Grade A is the highest and Grade E is the lowest. Only Grades A to D are recorded in certificates. The interpretation of the grades is as follows.

ISC Class 12 Subject Guidelines

Guidelines for Subject Choice in ISC Board

It should be noted that the same or related subjects of different groups can not be opted for simultaneously by a student. While choosing optional subjects, students are not allowed to opt for the following combination of subjects:

  • Group II Physics and Group III Engineering Science
  • Group III Geometric and Mechanical Drawing and Group III Geometric and Building Drawing
  • Group II Economics and Group III Economic Applications.
  • Group II Commercial Studies and Group III Commercial Applications.
  • Sanskrit as a second language subject in Group I and Sanskrit as a classical language in Group II.
  • Different Modern Foreign Languages shall be opted from each group (II and III).

Apart from subject choice, students need to keep in mind the following points:

  • Optional subjects can be chosen only at the time of class 11 registration. Subjects cannot be changed in class 12.
  • Students are allowed to choose one additional subject other than the optional subjects in Group II.
  • Students can also opt for an additional secondary language if Hindi is chosen as one of the second language subjects.

Ans. ISC class 12 exams will be conducted from February 12 to April 3, 2025.

Ques. What will be the maximum marks for a subject as per the latest ISC Class 12 Exam Pattern 2025?

Ans. There is no change in the maximum marks for any subject or the overall marks. A total of 100 marks have been allotted for each subject of which 30% marks will be allotted to practical exams and internal assessments. For some subjects, the theory paper will carry 80% weightage while 20% of marks will be for practical exams.

Ques. How many marks are carried by the practical exam in ISC Class 12 Exams 2025?

Ans. The practical exam for a subject will be conducted for 30 marks. Candidates have to visit the school to perform the lab activities as a part of their practical exam.

The ISC Class 12 Syllabus 2025-2026 has been released by CISCE, with changes in around 10 subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Accountancy, Geography, History, Political Science, Legal Studies & Psychology.

In the ISC Class 12 Syllabus, English and Economics are the same, which ensures consistency in language & commerce subjects.

  • According to the ISC Class 12 Exam Pattern, theory exams are worth 80 marks, and an additional 20 marks are allocated for practical/internal assessment.
  • In the ISC Class 12 Syllabus, the science subject follows a pattern of 70 marks for the theory exam and 30 marks for the practical exam, while mathematics carries the entire 100 marks for the theory exam.
  • In Physics, the practicals carry 15 marks for experiments and 10 marks for the project work, whereas in business studies, 20 marks will be given to reports and case studies.

The CISCE has declared the ISC Class 12 results on 30 April 2025 at 11:00 AM on the official website cisce.org and results.cisce.org. The students can check their ISC Class 12 Result 2025 and marksheet by using the course code, candidate UID, index number, and the captcha as shown on the login page. The students can access and download their ISC Class 12 Marksheet and Result through DigiLocker (only registered students).

  • The CISCE provides a process of ISC Class 12 Re-evaluation Result, for those students who are dissatisfied with their marks, they can apply for thr re-evaluation in the May 2025. The results of re-evaluation is expected to release in June 2025.
  • Those students who want to improve their ISC Class 12 score can apply for the ISC Class 12 Improvement exam in June 2025, with the exams scheduled for July 2025. The result of Improvement exam will be declared in August 2025.
