Law Faculty Entrance Test Exam Pattern

LFAT 2024 Replaced by CUET UG

The LFAT exam has been replaced by the CUET UG 2024 entrance exam for admission to the BA LLB program at Allahabad University. Previously, the university accepted LFAT scores for this program. Now, CUET UG 2024 exam scores will be considered for admission.

CUET UG 2024 is conducted at the national level by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The exam is held in hybrid mode, which means it can be taken using an OMR sheet or as a Computer Based Test.

CUET UG 2024 Exam Pattern

The CUET UG 2024 exam consists of multiple choice questions (MCQs) divided into 3 sections. The exam is conducted on multiple days in three shifts. The duration of the exam has not been announced yet.

Marking Scheme Details

For all correct attempts, you will get +5 marks. You will get 0 marks for unattempted questions. There is a negative marking of -1 for incorrect answers.

If more than one option is found to be correct, then +5 marks will be awarded only to those who have marked any of the correct options. If all options are found to be correct, then +5 marks will be awarded to all those who have attempted the question.

The exam has 3 sections: Language Comprehension, General Awareness and Current Affairs, and Reasoning and Mental Ability and Legal Aptitude. The medium of the exam is available in 13 languages.

Section-wise Division

The subject combinations for each paper, type of questions, and mode of examination are given in the table below.

From the above subjects or languages, the candidate can choose a maximum of 10 subjects from all three Sections.

CUET UG 2024 Syllabus

The CUET UG 2024 syllabus is available in the form of a brochure on the official website. The syllabus is expected to be the same as the previous year.

The syllabus is divided into three sections. Section 1A and 1B consist of Language subjects. Section 2 has domain-specific subjects. Section 3 deals with the General Test section which is compulsory for all. The syllabus of domain specific subjects is generally based on class 12 level.

CUET UG 2024 Exam Instructions

  • Type of Questions: Sections IA and IB test language skills through Factual, Literary, and Narrative reading comprehension passages.
  • Maximum Subjects: Candidates can choose a maximum of 3 Languages from Sections IA and IB combined. The third language must match a Domain-specific subject. From Section II, candidates can choose a maximum of 6 subjects out of 27 options, based on the requirements of the applicable university.
  • Difficulty Level: The difficulty is based on the Class 12th syllabus.
  • Maximum Number of Attempts: Candidates from the previous year's Class 12th can appear if their respective university permits it.
  • Schedule of Exam: CUET UG 2024 will be conducted on multiple days in two shifts, depending on the number of candidates and languages or tests taken.
