UPCATET 2024 Exam Pattern Overview

The UPCATET 2024 marking scheme has been revised. Candidates will now receive +4 marks for each correct answer, making the total marks 800. Previously, the total was 600 marks.

One mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer. No marks will be deducted for unattempted questions.

The exam is conducted offline using an OMR sheet. The question paper is bilingual, with questions in both English and Hindi.

All courses will have 200 questions, except for MBA, which will have 100 questions. The four question paper groups are PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS.

Candidates get 3 hours to solve the question paper. Answers must be marked on the OMR sheet using a blue or black ballpoint pen.

The UPCATET 2024 syllabus is based on Class 11 and 12 level topics. NCERT textbooks can be used as a preparation resource.

The UPCATET examination pattern is different for various undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

UPCATET 2024 Undergraduate Programs Exam Pattern

The question paper for undergraduate programs has 200 multiple-choice questions. The exam duration is three hours.

There are four groups of paper: PCB, PCM, PAG, and PHS.

Students in the PCB Group can be admitted to subjects such as Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry and Veterinary Science.
Candidates in the PCM group can secure admission in Agriculture, Horticulture, Home Science and B.Tech programs.
The PAG Group comprises Agriculture, Fisheries, Horticulture, Home Science, Forestry, and B.Tech in Agriculture Engineering and Biotechnology subjects.
The PHS Group is only meant for candidates seeking admission in B.Sc Home Science.

The undergraduate exam pattern depends on the stream chosen by the candidate. The exam has multiple sections, each with a specific number of questions and marks.

The total duration of the exam is 3 hours. The question paper consists of 200 multiple choice questions for a total of 800 marks.

Candidates must follow the instructions below on the exam day. This will help avoid any inconvenience.

Download the UPCATET 2024 Admit Card from the official website before the exam.
Carry the admit card and a relevant identity proof to the allocated exam center.
Entry to the exam hall is not allowed without the admit card.
Electronic gadgets such as log tables, electronic watches, mobile phones, pagers, and calculators are prohibited inside the exam.
Students must reach the examination centre on or before time.
If there is a discrepancy in the information on the admit card or if the photograph is not clear, contact the authorities to make the necessary changes.
