About the Institution
Bareilly College is a government Institute established in 1837, located in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh. It is affiliated to the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University and has been accredited with an ‘A’ grade. The college offers a wide range of UG, PG and doctoral courses in the streams of arts, science, commerce, law, library science and management.
Bareilly College offers LL.B and BCA as popular courses. Admission to the LL.B course is done through an entrance examination conducted by the university, while BCA admission is based on the merit of the qualifying examination, that is, 10+2 exams. For admission to UG courses candidates must have an in the relevant stream with at least 45%, except for LL.B and BEd for which entrance tests are conducted.

The college has a very rich central library with approximately 75000 books. The library approximately 120 Journals. Some of the books are very rare; it has a seating capacity for more than 200 students. The library opens from 10 am to 5 pm all working Days in a year.
Fifteen departments also have their separate departmental libraries for P.G. and research students. The INFLIBNET centre in the library buildings has internet facility available for U.G. , P.G. and research students.
Since 2010, access to scholarly electronic journals and database has been made available to Bareilly College by INFLIBNET through U.G.C- Info.net E Journals –consortium. More than ten thousands full text electronic journals and databases are available to research community of the Bareilly College.
