Jharkhand Engneering Entrance Cometitive Examination Eligibility Criteria
JEECE Eligibility Criteria 2023
JEECE Eligibility Criteria is set by the JCECE Board for admission to UG engineering programs in Jharkhand. The criteria cover nationality, domicile, age limit, educational qualification, and physical standards.
Only local or permanent residents of Jharkhand can apply for JEECE 2023. Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying.
If a candidate is found ineligible at the time of admission, their candidature will be cancelled. This applies even if they have taken the exam and qualified.
JEECE 2023 is expected to be held in the fourth week of May 2023. The JEECE Application Form 2023 may be available from the second week of April 2023.
Nationality Criteria
- Only Indian Nationals can apply for JEECE 2023.
- The candidate must also be a local or permanent resident of Jharkhand.
- A valid Aadhar number issued by UIDAI is mandatory.
Age Limit
There is no minimum or maximum age limit to apply for JEECE.
Educational Qualification
- Candidates must pass ISC/10+2 or equivalent examinations.
- Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics must be studied and passed at 10+2 or equivalent level.
- A minimum aggregate of 45% is required in these subjects.
- Candidates from reserved categories get a 5% relaxation in the aggregate.
Course Opted
- JEECE 2023 is conducted for B.E/B.Tech admissions under the JCECE scheme.
- Applicants must have Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as subjects at the 10+2 level.
JEECE 2023 Reservation
Reservations in JEECE apply based on caste, category, disability, and other criteria. The details are given below.
Reservation Based on Caste/Category
- Caste-based reservation follows the latest reservation policy of the Jharkhand government.
- Candidates claiming reservation must submit a Caste Certificate issued by the Sub-Divisional Officer (Civil) or Deputy Commissioner of Jharkhand.
- Caste certificates from other authorities are treated as invalid.
- Such candidates will not get reservation benefits.

Reservations Under Servicemen Quota (SMQ)
SMQ reservations apply only to Government Engineering Institutions. A sequence of priority is followed for this quota.

JEECE Eligibility Criteria 2023
JEECE 2023 eligibility is open only to Indian nationals who are local or permanent residents of Jharkhand. Candidates must also hold a valid Aadhaar number issued by UIDAI.
There is no age limit for JEECE 2023.

Reservation for Defense Personnel (SMQ)
Seats under the Sons/daughters of Military Personnel Quota (SMQ) are reserved for specific categories of defense families. The order of preference is given below, from highest to lowest priority.
- Widow/Wards of Defense Personnel who laid their lives in the course of duty.
- Wards of serving personnel or Ex-servicemen who have suffered any disability while performing the task under duty.
- Widow/Wards of Defense Personnel who laid their life in the line of duty during peacetime.
- Wards of Defense Personnel who got disabled while in the line of duty during peacetime.
- Wards of Defense Personnel/Ex-Servicemen who are a recipient of Gallantry Awards.
- Wards of Ex-servicemen.
- Wards of serving defense personnel.
Reservation for Persons with Disabilities
This reservation is applicable only for Government Degree Engineering Institutes under JEECE.
- Candidates with hearing, verbal, or physical disabilities, or a combination of these, are eligible.
- Candidates whose lower or upper or both parts of the body are 40% partially disabled are also considered.
- A Certificate of Disability issued by the Civil Orthopedics Doctor of District Hospital/Civil Surgeon of Jharkhand State is required.
- The certificate must be submitted along with a full-size photograph.
Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme
A tuition fee waiver scheme is available for 5% of the total seats under JEECE 2023. This scheme is open only to candidates who are residents of Jharkhand.
The total annual family income of the candidate must be less than INR 4.5 Lac per annum. Seats under this scheme are unreserved and are allotted on a Merit-Cum-Choice basis as per JCECEB guidelines.
