JEXPO 2024 Counselling Process

Candidates must register online for counselling and select their choices of institutes and courses. The steps for online registration are given below.

  1. Go to official WBSCT&VE&SD website - jexpo.webscte.co.in
  2. Click on 'Student Login' tab and select JEXPO 2024.
  3. Under 'New Registration', enter Enrollment Number, Index Number and Date of Birth, as mentioned on the merit list and click on 'proceed'.
  4. Verify data given under 'Data Available with Council'.
  5. If any information is wrong, the candidate has one chance to edit details.
  6. Candidate must enter the name of the school, Father's/Guardian's Name and then create a password.
  7. Click on 'Proceed'.
  8. A new screen will be generated with all details.
  9. The candidate will now go back to the Login page and enter enrollment number and password created during registration.
  10. Under 'My Status' click on 'Click here to fill choices' tab.
  11. The candidate will now have to select the institution and program in which admission is sought, in order of priority.
  12. Click on 'Save'.
  13. Choices can be changed until the last date of online registration.
  14. On or before the last date of registration, the candidate must click on 'Lock' tab on the last page to finalize choices.
  15. The candidate will have to enter the password after clicking on 'Lock'.

Documents Required for Admission

To take admission into the allotted seat, the candidate must report at the allotted institution with the following original documents and a set of photocopies for verification.

  1. Two copies of Final Allotment Letter cum Money Receipt taken from the counselling web portal after the declaration of JEXPO 2024 counselling results.
  2. INR 500 cash towards Final Seat Booking Fee.
  3. Admit Card of Class X or equivalent examination as age proof and for determination of District of schooling (in case the candidate is allotted District Quota seat).
  4. Mark sheet of Class X.
  5. JEXPO 2024 Admit Card.
  6. Reservation (SC, ST, PC, OBC-A, OBC-B, LLQ, TFW etc.) related certificates (as applicable).
  7. Medical Fitness Certificate.
  8. Filled-in Anti Ragging Affidavit in the given format.

JEXPO 2024 Tie Breaking Rule

If two candidates get the same score in JEXPO 2024, the exam authority applies a tie-breaking policy. The policy decides who gets a higher rank.

  • Higher marks in Mathematics are prioritized first.
  • Secondly, higher marks in Physical Science/Science are considered for ranking.
  • If the tie still continues, higher marks in English are given preference.

JEXPO 2024 Merit List Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme

Students on the JEXPO 2024 merit list can avail the Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) scheme under specific conditions. The candidate must have an annual family income from all sources in the preceding financial year of less than INR 2.50 lakhs and must be domiciled in West Bengal.

The scheme is run by the West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development (Technical Education Division). The key rules of the scheme are:

  • Up to a maximum 5% of sanctioned intake per course is available under this scheme.
  • These seats are supernumerary in nature.
  • All affiliated Polytechnics will allow seats over and above the sanctioned strength for each branch, subject to a maximum of 5% of the approved intake or the number of actual tuition fee waivers granted by the Institute in the same branch, whichever is less.
  • The waiver is limited to the tuition fee for the institution concerned.
  • Selection of candidates for the scheme is decided during the counselling process based on merit from amongst the eligible candidates. The result of JEXPO-2023 conducted by the WBSCT&VE&SD (TED) is the basis of merit in this case.
  • If no students in this category meet all prescribed criteria, the seats are not given to any other category of applicants.
