Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Kerala CEE MCA 2024 is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Government of Kerala. The exam grants admission to the Master of Computer Application (MCA) course in Kerala.
Admission allotment is made to institutions that participate in the Single Window System of Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) and have AICTE approval.
Who Can Apply
Candidates must have a B.C.A, B.Sc. (Computer Science), B.Sc (IT), B.E (CSE), B.Tech (CSE), B.E (IT), B.Tech (IT), or an equivalent degree. Any graduation degree with Mathematics is also acceptable.
General category candidates need a minimum of 50% qualifying marks. Reserved and PwD category candidates need a minimum of 45% marks. Only Indian citizens, including both Kerala and non-Kerala residents, are eligible.
Candidates must have qualified from a university in Kerala or from a university recognized by any university in Kerala. Final year undergraduate students can also appear for the entrance exam, but must produce the original degree certificate and mark lists of all parts of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
Seat Reservation
- PwD students: 40% of seats reserved
- SC category: 8% of seats reserved
- ST category: 2% of seats reserved
Domicile Criteria
Candidates must be Indian citizens. They must submit original copies of a birth certificate issued by a Village Officer or competent authority showing nativity in any State or Union Territory of India.
A passport or school certificate showing place of birth is also accepted as proof of nativity.
- Keralite: A candidate of Kerala origin is categorized as a 'Keralite'. Only Keralite candidates can claim seats under the Mandatory Reservation Quota.
- Non-Keralite: Candidates who do not belong to the Keralite category are considered Non-Keralites.
Age Criteria
There is no age limit for appearing in the Kerala CEE MCA 2024 exam. Candidates of any age can sit for the examination.
To prove Indian citizenship of Kerala origin, candidates must upload a certificate showing place of birth in Kerala, or a certificate from a competent authority showing that one or both parents were born in Kerala.
Academic Qualifications
General category candidates must have secured 50% marks in their bachelor's degree. SEBC and physically handicapped candidates need 45% marks. SC and ST candidates only need a minimum pass in the degree examination.
Appearing candidates are also eligible to apply for the Common Entrance Examination, Kerala 2024. All candidates must submit their original degree certificate and the entire mark list of the qualifying examination at the time of admission.
Colleges Affiliated to University of Kerala
Candidates must have completed a Bachelor's Degree of minimum three years duration after 10+2 level. The degree must be in any discipline with Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Computer Application, or Engineering and Technology as a Main, Subsidiary, or Core subject.
Colleges Affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and Kannur University
Candidates must have completed a regular Bachelor's Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline. The degree must have Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects, or Mathematics at 10+2 level from a recognized university.
Alternatively, a BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized university is also acceptable.
Colleges Affiliated to University of Calicut
Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any discipline of 3 years duration with Mathematics as one of the main subjects. Business Mathematics and Business Statistics are not included.
The degree must be from a regular program recognized by Calicut University.
Colleges Affiliated to Kannur University
Candidates must have a regular Bachelor's Degree course of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics at 10+2 level. Alternatively, a regular Bachelor's Degree with Mathematics or Statistics as one of the subjects is acceptable.
A BCA Degree of minimum three years duration from a recognized university is also accepted.
Number of Attempts
There is no fixed rule for the number of attempts in the Kerala CEE MCA 2024 exam. Candidates can attempt the exam any number of times.
Kerala CEE MCA 2024 Seat Reservation
Categories of Seats in Kerala MCA
In the Kerala CEE MCA 2024 exam, all seats are divided into three categories: government, management, and lapsed seats.
- Government seats: The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) allots these seats based on the rank list published by them.
- Management seats: These seats are set apart in aided or self-financing institutions. The management of the institution fills them based on Supreme Court directions and Government Orders.
- Lapsed seats: The institution itself fills these seats when the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations informs that no more candidates will be allotted against them.
Reservation for Persons with Disabilities (PWD)
Three percent of the seats available to the State for allotment from the State rank lists are reserved for candidates with disabilities. This applies to all courses in Government and Aided Colleges as per Section 39, Chapter VI of the Persons With Disabilities Act 1995.
- A candidate must have a minimum of 40% disability to be eligible for this quota.
- Candidates must submit a disability certificate from the District Medical Board. The certificate must be obtained within 12 months prior to the date of submission of the print out of the application form.
- Candidates must also produce a certificate from a Medical Officer not below the rank of Assistant Surgeon. This certificate must state that the candidate is fit to undergo the M.C.A. course.

Note on Unavailed Seats
Seats that remain unfilled in one category are moved to another category in the final allotment for all colleges.
- Seats unavailed by SC candidates go to ST candidates, and seats unavailed by ST candidates go to SC candidates.
- Seats unavailed by SC/ST candidates are filled from the OEC category. Seats unavailed by OEC candidates are allotted to State Merit candidates.
- Seats unavailed by SEBC candidates are allotted to State Merit candidates.
- Seats unavailed by EWS candidates go to State Merit.
- If any seat in any special reservation quota, including the PWD quota, is left unavailed, it goes to State Merit.
