MAT 2026 Exam Centers list is going to be released by AIMA (All India Management Association) along with the admit card for each session. MAT 2026 is conducted in three modes - CBT (Computer Based Test), PBT (Paper Based Test), and IBT (Internet Based Test). For the upcoming September 2026 session, AIMA is going to conduct the CBT across 42 test cities and the PBT across 51 test cities in India. Candidates appearing for IBT do not need to visit any physical exam center - they take the test from home via an internet-enabled device. AIMA is going to release the specific test center allotment for registered candidates through the session-specific admit card on the official website at mat.aima.in. All details related to the candidate’s MAT exam center, venue, time, date, and slot are going to be mentioned in the MAT Admit Card 2026.

MAT Exam Centers 2026

AIMA conducts MAT 2026 in three modes - CBT, PBT, and IBT. Physical exam centers apply only to the CBT and PBT modes. For CBT and PBT, candidates must select up to 2 preferred test cities at the time of registration. AIMA then allots a specific venue within one of those chosen cities. Candidates registering for IBT do not need to select any city and appear from home.

For the MAT September 2026 session, the PBT is scheduled on September 13, 2026 and the CBT on September 20, 2026. Registration for this session is currently open at mat.aima.in. The mode-wise city lists below are based on the most recent confirmed sessions and are expected to remain consistent for September 2026.

Note: Although candidates fill their preferred cities in the MAT application form, AIMA reserves the final right to allocate test centers to candidates. In the event of unforeseen circumstances - insufficient accommodation at a center, technical disruptions, or low registrations at a city - AIMA reserves the right to add, delete, or modify any center. Candidates must verify the confirmed mode-wise city list at mat.aima.in before registering.

MAT 2026 Exam Center Allotment Process

AIMA follows a structured process to allot MAT 2026 exam centers to registered candidates. The allotment is not immediate - it is processed after registration closes for each session and communicated through the admit card. The steps below explain how the process works for each mode:

• Step 1: Candidates select up to 2 test cities of their preference while filling the MAT 2026 application form. For CBT and PBT, city preferences must be chosen separately from the mode-specific city list on mat.aima.in.
• Step 2: Candidates also confirm their test mode - CBT, PBT, or IBT - during registration. IBT candidates do not select any city and appear from home.
• Step 3: After the registration window closes for a session, AIMA processes the candidate pool and allots a specific exam center within one of the two selected cities, subject to seat availability.
• Step 4: The allotted MAT exam center name, full address, exam date, and reporting time are published through the session-specific admit card on the official candidate portal.
• Step 5: Candidates log in to the official portal, download the admit card, and confirm the allotted center details before the exam date.

Note: AIMA generally allots a center within one of the two chosen cities. In rare cases of capacity constraints, the authority may allot a center in a nearby city. Candidates should account for this possibility when choosing their preferred cities during form filling.

MAT 2026 Exam Center Change: Is It Allowed?

AIMA does not permit any change of exam city or test center once the MAT 2026 application form has been submitted. The city preference field is non-editable after final form submission, and no modification request is accepted at any stage - including after the admit card is released. Candidates should finalize their city choices with care before submitting the form.

Candidates are strongly advised to choose a city closest to their place of residence as the first preference. This reduces travel time, minimizes the risk of late arrival, and ensures the candidate is comfortable on exam day. Since no correction window exists after form submission, double-checking the city selection before clicking "Submit" is essential.

How to check MAT Exam Center 2026 Allotted?

After a candidate successfully completes registration, AIMA allots a specific exam center and communicates it through the session-specific admit card. For the MAT September 2026 session, the PBT admit card is expected around September 10, 2026 and the CBT admit card around September 17, 2026. Candidates can follow the steps below to check their allotted MAT exam center:

• Step 2: Click on the "Download Admit Card" link on the homepage for the relevant session (PBT September or CBT September).
• Step 3: Enter the registered email ID and password to log in to the candidate portal.
• Step 4: Select the applicable mode and session and click "Submit" to proceed.
• Step 5: The session-specific admit card with the allotted exam center name, full address, date, time slot, and reporting time will appear on screen. Download it and print two copies on A4 size paper.

Note: Candidates are required to appear for the test on the designated date and time slot at the allocated exam venue. Appearing at a different center or switching modes on exam day is not permitted under any circumstances.

MAT 2026 Exam Day Instructions

Candidates appearing at a MAT 2026 exam center (PBT or CBT mode) must follow the instructions below on the day of the exam:

1. All candidates must carry the session-specific MAT Admit Card 2026 (printed on A4 paper, original printout) to the exam center along with a valid original photo ID proof. Carrying two printed copies of the admit card is recommended.
2. Reach the MAT exam center at least 90 minutes before the scheduled exam start time. Entry gates close 30 minutes before the exam begins and no candidate is allowed inside after that point.
3. If possible, visit the MAT exam center one day before the exam to confirm the exact location and plan your travel route in advance.
4. Candidates must be seated only at the designated seat allotted to them in the exam hall. Changing seats or occupying an unassigned seat is not allowed.
5. All MAT 2026 exam centers are under CCTV surveillance throughout the examination. Candidates must maintain proper conduct inside the center premises.
6. Carrying prohibited items such as mobile phones, smartwatches, digital calculators, pagers, Bluetooth devices, or any printed or handwritten material into the exam hall is strictly prohibited. Candidates found with such items will be debarred from the examination.
7. Rough work must be done only on the sheet provided at the center and submitted to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
8. For CBT mode - if any technical issue occurs with the computer system, candidates must immediately inform the invigilator present in the hall. Attempting to fix the system independently is not permitted.
9. Candidates must not leave the exam hall before the exam is officially concluded by the invigilator.
