What is MET Result 2026?
The MET Result 2026 is the official rank list published by MAHE after evaluating your performance in the Manipal Entrance Test. It is not a pass/fail declaration — every candidate who appeared in MET gets an All-India Rank based on their score out of 240 and Class 12 marks combined.
That rank decides your position in counselling for B.Tech and other undergraduate seats across Manipal University campuses.
MET 2026 Exam Details
MAHE conducted MET 2026 in two phases to give candidates a second opportunity if they missed Phase 1 or wanted to improve their score. Phase 1 ran on April 13–14, 2026, and Phase 2 on May 23–24, 2026.
If you appeared in both phases, MAHE uses your best score to compute the merit rank. The combined merit list, released on June 8, 2026, merged all Phase 1 and Phase 2 candidates into a single rank order for counselling.

Ans. Go to manipal.edu and click the login button. Select "Forgot Password" and enter your registered email ID. MAHE sends a reset link to that address. Once reset, log in and download your rank card from the dashboard. Alternatively, check your inbox directly — MAHE also sends the rank card to your registered email after declaration, so you may already have it there.
Ques. The MET result link is not loading or showing an error. What should I do?
Ans. Server congestion right after a result goes live is common. Wait 15–20 minutes and try again. Clear your browser cache (Ctrl+Shift+Delete on most browsers) or switch to a different browser or device. If the problem continues beyond a few hours, contact MAHE's admissions helpdesk through the contact details listed on manipal.edu.
MET 2026 Rank Card — What It Contains
Your MET 2026 rank card is an official MAHE document required at every stage — counselling registration, seat acceptance, and campus reporting for document verification. Keep at least two printed copies and store the PDF file safely on your device and cloud storage.
MET CSE Closing Rank Trend — MIT Manipal
CSE closing ranks at MIT Manipal have tightened by roughly 30–40% over four years. A rank that was enough for CSE in 2022 might only get you into ECE or Mechanical today.
| Year | CSE Closing Rank — MIT Manipal (Approximate) | Trend Observation |
|---|---|---|
| 2026 | ~3,855 (Round 3 confirmed; Round 4 final rank to be updated) | Tightening vs 2025 |
| 2025 | ~4,000–4,500 (estimated final round) | Higher demand than 2024 |
| 2024 | ~4,500–5,000 (estimated final round) | Steady demand for CSE |
| 2023 | ~5,000–5,500 (estimated) | Post-pandemic surge in CS interest |
| 2022 | ~5,500–6,500 (estimated) | Lower base demand pre-AI boom |
Closing rank figures for 2022–2025 are approximate trend-based estimates. For year-wise official closing rank records, refer to the seat allotment results published at counseling.manipal.edu.
If CSE at MIT Manipal is your target for MET 2027, aim for a rank below 3,500 — competition has increased sharply as AI and software careers have drawn more aspirants.
Details on the MET 2026 Rank Card
The MET 2026 rank card contains your scores, percentile, and All-India Rank. It is issued after the exam and is used for counselling and seat allotment.
| Detail on Rank Card | Description |
|---|---|
| Application number | Your unique MET 2026 application ID assigned during registration |
| Candidate name | As entered during the application process |
| Roll number | Exam roll number assigned by MAHE |
| Test date and session | The slot in which you appeared — Phase 1 or Phase 2, with date and time |
| Course applied for | Programme you registered for at the time of application |
| Subject-wise marks | Separate scores for Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English & General Aptitude |
| Total score | Aggregate out of 240 |
| Percentile | Your relative position among all candidates in the same phase |
| All-India Rank | Your MET 2026 rank used for counselling and seat allotment across all Manipal University campuses |
The rank card is not your admission letter. Even after a seat is allotted and you accept it, you must carry the original printed rank card along with other documents when you report to campus for verification. A screenshot or digital copy on your phone is not accepted in place of a printed document during in-person verification at most Manipal University campuses.
MET 2026 Qualifying Marks and Score Interpretation
MET does not have a fixed minimum qualifying score. There is no cut-off below which you are automatically disqualified.
Every candidate who appears gets an All-India Rank. Your effective eligibility for a seat depends on whether your rank falls within the closing rank for your preferred programme and campus in any of the four counselling rounds.
Your score out of 240 gives a strong sense of which programmes and campuses are realistically within reach:
| MET Score (out of 240) | What It Typically Means for Admission |
|---|---|
| 190 and above | Strong position for high-demand programmes like CSE and Mathematics & Computing at MIT Manipal (Udupi) |
| 160–189 | Good scope for ECE, Mechanical, or Civil at MIT Manipal; or CSE/ECE at Manipal University Jaipur and Bhopal |
| 120–159 | Eligible for most programmes at MU Jaipur, MU Bhopal, and MU Sikkim |
| Below 120 | Admission possible at newer or lower-demand campuses; limited programme choices at MIT Manipal |
Your actual merit rank also factors in your Class 12 marks. Two candidates with identical MET scores can end up with different merit ranks if their board performance differs.
MAHE specifies the exact weightage formula in the official MET information brochure. If you think your rank does not reflect your performance, contact MAHE's admissions support with your application number for clarification. There is no formal re-evaluation process for MET.
Is there a minimum score you need to be eligible for MET 2026 counselling?
No. MET has no fixed minimum qualifying score. Every candidate who appeared gets a rank, and counselling eligibility depends on rank vs available seats.
Scoring below 50 out of 240 typically places you beyond rank 40,000, which leaves limited options at Manipal University campuses. You are not technically disqualified from participating in counselling.
MET 2026 Cutoff by Programme
The MET cutoff is the closing rank at which the last available seat in a programme gets filled in a counselling round. Closing ranks shift from round to round — they generally tighten in early rounds and may relax slightly in Round 4 as surrendered or vacated seats re-enter the pool.
The figures below are based on Round 3 confirmed data. Final Round 4 closing ranks will be published on the official counselling portal once the round is formally closed.
MET 2026 Closing Ranks — MIT Manipal, B.Tech (Round 3, All India Open Seats):
| Programme | Round 3 Closing Rank (All India) | Round 4 Closing Rank |
|---|---|---|
| Mathematics & Computing | 2,821–3,159 | To be updated |
| Computer Science Engineering (CSE) | 3,855 | To be updated |
| Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE) | ~8,000–10,000 (trend-based estimate) | To be updated |
| Mechanical Engineering | Above 17,000 | To be updated |
| Civil Engineering | Above 17,000 | To be updated |
For programmes at other Manipal University campuses — Jaipur, Bhopal, Sikkim — closing ranks are generally higher. A higher rank number is often sufficient for admission.
If your rank falls between 5,000 and 20,000, these campuses offer solid options for CSE, ECE, and Mechanical Engineering. Check the official seat allotment records at counseling.manipal.edu for programme and campus-wise final closing ranks once Round 4 data is formally published.
MET 2026 Marks vs Rank
The table below shows the approximate All-India Rank for a given MET 2026 score. These figures are based on patterns from the 2025 and 2026 counselling cycles. Your exact rank also depends on your Class 12 marks and the difficulty of your exam slot.
| MET Score Range (out of 240) | Expected All-India Rank (Approximate) |
|---|---|
| 190–240 | 1 – 500 |
| 170–189 | 501 – 2,000 |
| 150–169 | 2,001 – 5,500 |
| 130–149 | 5,501 – 12,000 |
| 110–129 | 12,001 – 22,000 |
| 90–109 | 22,001 – 35,000 |
| 40–89 | 35,001 – 45,000+ |
These are trend-based estimates. Your actual rank can vary by up to 10–15% depending on your Class 12 marks, the difficulty of your exam slot, and the total number of candidates in MET 2026. MAHE uses a combined formula — a strong Class 12 record can improve your merit rank even with a moderate MET score.
Does a high MET score guarantee admission to MIT Manipal CSE?
No. Your counselling rank is calculated from both your MET score and Class 12 marks. A very high MET score can be lowered by weaker Class 12 performance. Admission to CSE at MIT Manipal also depends on available open seats and how many candidates ranked above you choose the same programme.
MET 2026 Seat Allotment
MAHE conducts MET 2026 admissions through four counselling rounds. In each round, you list your programme and campus preferences in order. MAHE then allots the best available seat based on your merit rank.
If you receive a seat in an earlier round, you can accept it to block it while still trying for a better option in the next round. You can also forfeit the current seat if a better allotment comes later.
MET 2026 Counselling and Seat Allotment Schedule:
| Round | Choice Filling | Seat Allotment | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | June 3–6, 2026 | June 8, 2026 | Over |
| Round 2 | June 17–18, 2026 | June 20, 2026 | Over |
| Round 3 | June 27–28, 2026 | June 30, 2026 | Over |
| Round 4 | July 2026 | ~July 10, 2026 | Over |
Round 4 is the final regular allotment round. The closing ranks from Round 4 are the most relevant benchmark for students planning for MET 2027. Seats vacant after Round 4 may go into a spot-admission or mop-up round at MAHE's discretion — check the official portal for announcements.
If you are allotted a seat, pay the acceptance fee by the deadline in your allotment letter. Missing that window means the seat goes back to the pool.
What After MET Result 2026?
Getting your MET rank is the first step. Here is what you need to do at each stage after the result to secure your seat and complete admission formalities.
Step 1: Accept your allotted seat
If you have been allotted a seat in Round 4 or any earlier round, log in to counseling.manipal.edu and pay the seat acceptance fee before the deadline in your allotment letter. This confirms your intent to join and blocks the seat in your name.
Step 2: Pay the programme admission fee
After accepting the seat, pay the full programme-specific admission fee online. The fee varies by campus and programme — check the official fee schedule on the counselling portal before making the payment.
Step 3: Report to the allotted campus for document verification
Visit the allotted campus on the dates mentioned in your allotment letter. Late or no-show reporting can result in cancellation of your seat. Carry originals and self-attested photocopies of all the documents listed below.
Documents to carry for campus reporting:
- MET 2026 rank card (printed copy downloaded from manipal.edu)
- Class 10 marksheet and passing certificate (for date of birth proof)
- Class 12 marksheet and passing certificate
- Transfer certificate (TC) from your last institution
- Migration certificate (if applicable)
- Category certificate — SC, ST, OBC, EWS, or PwD as applicable — issued by a competent government authority
- Passport-size photographs (keep at least 10 copies)
- Government-issued photo ID (Aadhaar card, passport, or voter ID)
- Printed seat allotment letter from the counselling portal
Management Quota and NRI Quota Seats
MAHE also allocates seats under Management Quota and NRI Quota. These follow a separate fee structure and admission process. Contact the respective campus admissions office for current availability and eligibility conditions.

MET 2026 Closing Rank for CSE at MIT Manipal
Based on Round 3 counselling data, B.Tech Computer Science Engineering at MIT Manipal (All India open seats) closed at approximately rank 3,855. Round 4 may show a marginal relaxation as some seats re-enter the pool.

Missing the Seat Acceptance Deadline After Round 4
If you don't pay the seat acceptance fee within the deadline in your Round 4 allotment letter, you forfeit the allotted seat. The seat goes back into the pool.

Validity of MET 2026 Rank Across Campuses
Yes. Your MET 2026 rank is valid for admissions across all Manipal University campuses — MIT Manipal (Udupi, Karnataka), Manipal University Jaipur, Manipal University Bhopal, and Manipal University Sikkim.

Participating in Round 4 After Getting a Seat in Round 3
Yes, you can participate in Round 4 to try for a better programme or campus. If Round 4 gives you a better allotment, your Round 3 seat gets automatically replaced.
If Round 4 gives you nothing better, your Round 3 seat is retained. Just make sure you don't miss the acceptance fee deadline for whichever round you end up with — failing to pay on time means losing the seat regardless of which round allotted it.
Enrolment Formalities After Counselling
Once document verification is done, you sign the enrolment form and receive your student ID. The campus will share hostel allocation and orientation/induction schedule details shortly after admission formalities are complete.
*The article might have information for the previous academic years, which will be updated soon subject to the notification issued by the University/College.

Counselling and seat allotment
After the results are declared, you must participate in the counselling process. Seat allotment is based on your MET rank and the choices you fill in.
You will receive a rank card after the exam. During counselling, you must select your preferred campus and programme. The system allots the best available option based on your rank and the seats available.
Participating campuses
MET scores are accepted for admission to multiple campuses under MAHE. You can choose from these campuses during counselling.
- Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal
- Manipal University Jaipur
- Manipal University Bhopal
- Manipal University Sikkim
Round 4 participation
Yes, you can participate in Round 4 even if you got a seat in Round 3. This gives you a chance to get a better programme or campus.
If Round 4 gives you a better allotment, your Round 3 seat is automatically replaced. If you do not get a better option, your Round 3 seat is retained. You must pay the acceptance fee by the deadline for whichever round you end up with. Failing to pay on time means losing the seat regardless of which round allotted it.
