Madhya Pradesh Counselling Exam Pattern
The exam pattern for MP DTE Counselling 2026 is based on the scores used for admission, not a separate entrance test conducted by the counselling authority.
- Primary route: Admissions to B.E. and B.Tech courses in Round 1 and Round 2 are based on the JEE Main 2026 All India Rank (AIR).
- Alternate route: A separate Class 12 merit-based route (Qualifying Examination or QE route) is available for candidates without JEE Main scores, once the main rounds are complete.
For the JEE Main route, candidates with a lower AIR rank higher on the merit list. In case of a tied AIR, the following tiebreakers apply in order:
- Class 12 aggregate percentage
- Individual subject marks
- Age (older candidate preferred)
- Alphabetical order of name
For the QE route, a separate merit list based on Class 12 aggregate marks is released after the JEE Main rounds close.
