Why Does OJEE Almost Always Fall in May?

OJEE’s May exam date is anchored to Odisha’s academic calendar. Class 12 board results for the Odisha Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) are typically declared in May–June, and the state government targets a July 1 academic session start for degree colleges. Holding OJEE in May allows enough time for answer key processing (roughly one week), result declaration (approximately three weeks post-exam), and three rounds of web-based counselling before the session opens. The 2022 delay to July was an exception driven by post-pandemic schedule corrections; the return to May from 2023 onwards reflects the normalised academic calendar.
