What is TUEE Result 2026?
The TUEE result 2026 is the outcome of the Tezpur University Entrance Examination. Tezpur University is a central university at Napaam in Assam, and it conducts TUEE through its admission cell for admission to UG, PG and PhD programmes.
The result is not a simple mark sheet. Tezpur University publishes a provisional common merit rank list that places every student in a programme in rank order. Your position on that list decides whether you get a seat.
- Conducting body: Tezpur University, Napaam, Assam
- Exam mode: Computer based test, held over three days
- Paper structure: 50 multiple choice questions with four options each
- Marking scheme: 2 marks for a correct answer, 0.5 mark deducted for a wrong one
- Total marks: 100
- Duration: 2 hours
- Result format: Programme-wise provisional merit rank list, followed by document verification
- Programmes covered: BTech Lateral Entry, BDes, BEd, BA in Chinese, MTech, MA, MSc, MCA, MDes, MEd, LLM, MTTM and PhD
TUEE is not the only route into Tezpur University. BTech admission runs on JEE Main through JoSAA, CSAB and the North-East quota. Most UG programmes run on CUET-UG, and MBA runs on CAT, MAT, XAT, ATMA or CMAT. TUEE covers the rest.

Key Points About the Merit Rank List
The TUEE 2026 result is a merit rank list, not a pass or fail scorecard. Your rank decides your seat.
- Tezpur University publishes one list per programme, so your rank in MCA has nothing to do with your rank in MA English.
- The list released on 1 July 2026 is provisional. The university finalises it after document verification.
- For most PG programmes, TUEE fills 70 percent of seats and CUET-PG fills the remaining 30 percent.
- Admission through TUEE 2026 closed on 24 July 2026. There is no fresh window this session.

Visit the admission portal at tezuadm.samarth.edu.in. Log in using your registered email ID or mobile number and password.

TUEE Result Previous Year Statistics
Tezpur University does not publish candidate counts for TUEE. The schedule itself provides the historical picture. The table below tracks the exam and result window across four cycles.
| Year | Exam Dates | Mode | Merit List Released |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 26, 27 and 28 May 2023 | Offline | 30 June 2023 (PG programmes) |
| 2024 | 11 to 13 June 2024 | Computer based test | Early July 2024 |
| 2025 | 1 to 3 July 2025 | Computer based test | 29 and 30 July 2025 (unreserved), 1 August 2025 (reserved) |
| 2026 | 5, 6 and 7 June 2026 | Computer based test | 1 July 2026 (provisional common merit rank list) |
Gap Between Exam and Result
The wait for a merit list has shortened over recent cycles. The whole admission cycle now finishes earlier.
| Year | Last Exam Day | Merit List Date | Gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2023 | 28 May | 30 June | About 33 days |
| 2025 | 3 July | 29 July | About 26 days |
| 2026 | 7 June | 1 July | About 24 days |
The result gap has come down from roughly 33 days to about 24 days over three cycles. The calendar shifted forward in 2026, so admission closed on 24 July instead of the second week of August as in 2025. For TUEE 2027, plan for a June exam and a July admission close.
How to Check TUEE Result 2026
There are two ways to see the TUEE 2026 result. The merit rank list is a public PDF and needs no login. The individual scorecard sits behind the portal login.

- Step 2: Under Recent Notifications, open the entry dated 1 July 2026 for the provisional common merit rank list.
- Step 3: Find the programme section, then search for the application ID or TUEE roll number.
- Step 4: Note the merit rank and save the PDF.
Method 2: Through the Admission Portal Login
- Step 1: Open tezuadm.samarth.edu.in and log in with the email ID or mobile number and password used at registration.
- Step 2: Open the dashboard and select the programme applied for.
- Step 3: Click the result or scorecard link to see marks and rank.
- Step 4: Download and print it, since it is needed for document verification.

Frequently Asked Question
Ques. I cannot find my name in the merit rank list. What does that mean?
Ans. Either the qualifying bar for that programme was not cleared, or the name is on the waiting list rather than the main list. Log in to the portal and check the scorecard, then write to asktuee@tezu.ernet.in if the two do not match.
Details Mentioned on the TUEE 2026 Merit Rank List
The TUEE 2026 merit rank list carries only what the university needs to identify a candidate and place them in rank order.
TUEE 2026 Merit List and Waiting List
Tezpur University does not use a centralized choice-filling system like JoSAA. It creates a separate merit list for each programme, calls students in rank order, and fills any remaining seats from the waiting list.
- One list per programme: There is no combined rank across all programmes. Each department publishes its own list.
- Category split: Separate lists are released for unreserved and reserved categories, as was done in 2025.
- Waiting list: If seats remain vacant after the main list reports, the university moves down the waiting list.
- Quota split: For most PG programmes, TUEE fills 70 percent of seats and CUET-PG fills 30 percent, so you compete only within the TUEE share.
The 70:30 split is more significant than most students expect. A programme with 30 seats has only about 21 TUEE seats, so a rank in the low twenties can still be tight.
TUEE 2026 Qualifying Marks and Cutoff
Tezpur University does not publish a fixed qualifying mark for TUEE. The cutoff is simply the marks of the last student admitted in your programme and category, so it changes every year.
- Seats in the TUEE share: A 10-seat MDes programme closes far higher than a 63-seat MA in English.
- Size of the applicant pool: MCA and MA in English draw the largest pools.
- Paper difficulty: With 50 questions and negative marking, a few careless attempts move you several ranks.
- Category: Reserved category lists close at lower marks than the unreserved list.
Because a correct answer gives 2 marks and a wrong one costs 0.5, accuracy matters more than volume in TUEE. Leaving 5 doubtful questions blank often beats guessing all 5.
TUEE 2026 Seat Intake by Programme
Your rank only means something against the seats on offer. The table below lists the intake for the main programmes that admit through TUEE 2026.
| Programme | Total Intake | TUEE Share |
|---|---|---|
| BTech Lateral Entry (CE, CSE, EE, ECE, ME, FET) | 30 | Full intake through TUEE 2026 |
| BEd | 63 | 70 percent through TUEE |
| MA in English | 63 | 70 percent through TUEE |
| MCA | 56 | 70 percent through TUEE |
| MA in Mass Communication and Journalism | 44 | 70 percent through TUEE |
| MSc in Physics | 38 | 70 percent through TUEE |
| LLM | 25 | 70 percent through TUEE |
| MA in Social Work | 22 | 70 percent through TUEE, with a personal interview |
| MTech programmes (per specialisation) | 10 to 18 | 70 percent of non-GATE seats through TUEE |
| MDes | 10 | TUEE, with CEED, GATE and NID DAT holders preferred |
Personal Interview Round After the TUEE Result
Not every programme ends at the merit list. A few departments call shortlisted students for a personal interview, and your final place depends on both scores.
- MA in Mass Communication and Journalism: The university issued a separate personal interview notice on 24 June 2026.
- MA in Social Work: Separate TUEE and CUET shortlists went out on 29 June 2026, followed by interviews.
- PhD programmes: Every PhD applicant faces a personal interview. NET, SLET, GATE and CEED holders skip the written test but still attend the interview.
- MTech and MDes through GATE or CEED: These run on a separate selection list, notified on 4 June 2026.
If your programme has an interview stage, the merit rank list is a shortlist, not an admission offer. Read your department notice rather than assuming the rank settles it.
TUEE 2026 Admission and Document Verification
Tezpur University runs admission through its own portal, not a central counselling body. Once your name appears on the merit list, the process is short.
- Step 1: Check your rank in the provisional common merit rank list for your programme.
- Step 2: Accept the seat on the admission portal within the deadline in your programme notice.
- Step 3: Upload documents for verification and pay the admission fee online.
- Step 4: Attend the personal interview, if your programme has one.
- Step 5: Report physically at the Napaam campus on the date in the reporting notification.
Documents You Need
- Your application ID
- Your TUEE 2026 roll number
- The programme you applied for
- Your merit rank within that programme
- Your category, and whether you are on the main list or the waiting list
Your scorecard on the portal adds your name and marks out of 100. Check your name spelling and category on both documents, and report any mismatch to the admission cell straight away.
