Geeta Institute of Law (GIL) is a private law college in Panipat, Haryana, India, established in 2007, affiliated with Kurukshetra University and approved by the Bar Council of India (BCI), offering programs such as BA LLB (Hons.), BBA LLB, LLB, and LLM that blend academic learning with practical legal training.

The campus is situated on NH-1, G.T. Road, Panipat (Karhans, Samalkha), about a 50-minute drive from Delhi, and features modern infrastructure with air-conditioned smart classrooms, a large library with extensive legal resources, moot court halls, computer labs, and a spacious auditorium.

Students also benefit from Wi-Fi connectivity, a cafeteria, separate hostels for boys and girls, sports facilities, transport services, and other amenities that support a balanced academic and campus life. GIL aims to prepare students for successful careers in law through quality education and practical exposure.

Geeta Institute of Law has well-furnished air-conditioned classrooms with necessary instructional aids. It is also equipped with LCD Projector for effective communication and interaction with the students, to facilitate class room discussions and project presentations.

The library of Geeta Institute of Law is one of the best libraries in Haryana. It is the hub of legal research at the college. The primary mission of GIL Library is to provide the students and staff with the information and services necessary to support the instructional, research and service activities of Law School. The education of Law requires developing an interest in reading. The library has over 5500 books including bound volumes of various law reports and journals. The library subscribes to over eighty journals and law reports on a regular basis. In addition, we have 10 magazines and seven daily newspapers also. Every year about one thousand books are added to the collection. We are also having a large collection of books/journals/law reports donated by reputed lawyers and other individuals. The library follows the open access system wherein the students can access the books they want to refer directly from the shelves. E-resources have been recognized as one of the imperatives for quality legal education and practice. The twenty first century legal research, legal writing, legal drafting, and all other legal professional pursuits relay on authentic e-resources. To enhance the learning and research experience of student and faculty alike, Geeta Institute of Law has subscription of internationally acclaimed legal and other science and humanities databases. These data base are easily accessible to the registered student log-in I’d, within the campus. The college currently has subscription to SCC Online.

There are a few essential aspects of law school that every law student must understand. These include writing a research paper, taking part in various conferences and competitions, etc. One of the most important aspects of pursuing law as a career option is mooting. Mooting is a representation of a court proceeding, involving oral proceedings. It includes written submissions in the form of a complaint and written statement. Participating teams are allotted a side that they ought to defend. This allotment of parties takes place a day before the competition. A proper scenario based on a courtroom is created for the students to have a real-life experience. They have to pretend to be lawyers throughout the proceeding. The judges may ask them questions to test their conceptual understanding of laws applicable to the problem. But as the demand for lawyers rose, colleges started prioritizing mooting. Many law schools added “Moot Court” as a subject in their syllabus. The motive behind this was to ensure that students understand the various nuances of the law. Mooting would help them to grasp law in its multiple dimensions and depths. We have a Moot Court Hall designed like a courtroom for the purpose of conducting Moot Court Competitions. The Moot Court Hall is also used for conducting and judging competitions at the GIL Moot Court Competitions “PROFESSIONAL LEGALISM” held annually.

The Institute has a computer lab which is air-conditioned and fully equipped with adequate number of terminals with latest configuration. It has more than 30 computers with internet connectivity for the use of the students, teachers and staff working in the Geeta Institute of Law. Sufficient time is allotted to give an optimum lab exposure to the students. Individual attention is given to every student. Students are provided round-the -clock internet facility, where they can surf the internet to gather knowledge from various sites and paid resources. Computer Centre facilitates the students to become independent learners and self – starters. We encourage use of multimedia to learn interactively and work on class projects. The computer lab has been set up under the guidance of expert professionals, so as to provide the best technology and facilities to the students. We firmly believe that the overall development and knowledge enhancement for an engineer is possible only after adequate exposure to information technology. The best-in-class computer lab and other technological/ERP infrastructure lends the institute to be truly known and recognized as the best law college in Haryana.

The college has a spacious Auditorium for staging all indoor academic and cultural activities with a seating capacity of around 150 people. The auditorium has hosted many events with full capacity like Panel Discussion on Surrogacy Law, International and National Level Seminars, National Debate Competition, Guest Lectures, latest Bill and Active Draft Discussion and many others. We provide world class facilities to our students as we want our students to achieve best results in Haryana and being the best law college in Haryana now aim to be the best law college in the country.
