R D Gardi Medical College - [RDGMC]

The Medical college building consists of all the Pre-clinical, Para-clinical departments, and an administrative wing. All the departments are with office chamber for faculty members, demonstration rooms, various laboratories and museum. College has lecture theaters, examination hall and auditorium as per MCI norms.

The students also get training in the renowned Ujjain Charitable Trust Hospital & Research Centre, a 400-beded multi-specialty hospital, owned and managed by the trust. The hospital was established in 1992 and cater patients from a radius of 200 km of Ujjain city. We have been the first hospital in M.P. to install world class CT- Scanner and lamellar air-flow equipped operation theatre. We are also the first and still the only hospital in Ujjain Division to have facilities for Haemodialysis, E.E.G., Gastroscopy, Cystoresectoscope & Neuro Surgery. The hospital for inpatients has been constructed on modern principals of inpatient care and has seven stories.

Another world class 720 bedded hospital established in 2001 in medical college campus provide almost free services to the patients. It is recognized as a centre of Excellence in Cardiology, Nephrology, Urology, Neonatology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, Gynecology and Trauma management, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, TB & Chest Diseases, Dermatology, Psychiatry, Paediatrics. The hospital has twelve state of the art operation theatres, ICU, ICCU, NICU, PICU, SICU, Obst. ICU, Respiratory Diseases ICU. It has world class diagnostic facilities like 1.5 Tesla MRI, DSA with Cath lab various fiber optic and rigid endoscopes, various laser equipments, Fundus camera, Operating Microscopes, CD4 Counter, Dry Chemistry Auto analyzer, Cell Counter, Blood Gas Analyzer, Elisa Reader, Chemiluscence Analyzer, Video EEG, EMG BERA, Blood Component facility Bactac, Immunohisto Chemistry.

The hospital has an out-patients department that provides services for all clinical disciplines. It has been constructed with keeping ease of movement of patients and their relatives in mind. The Outdoor department is 80,000 sqft in size and has been designed to avoid over crowding. Both outdoor services and inpatient services are provided totally free of cost including medicines, investigations and operations

Our Medical College has a central library with collections of more than 20,634 text books and reference books, 80 national and 46 international, journals, etc. It ranks as one of the beautiful libraries in India. In the library audio/visual material and equipments are also available to the students. The library also has internet facility of its own. 2300 international journals are available online through Medlar & Proquest. Internet library facilities are also available in departmental libraries and hostels.

We have separate beautifully built hostels for Boys and Girls, Resident Doctors, Interns and Nurses in the campus where twin sharing rooms are available with mess and solar water heating facilities. Adjoining to the hostel there is large play-ground, gymnasium and other recreational facilities and beautiful gardens is for 1100 students. For residents single sharing rooms with attached wash and kitchen are also available.

College has 4 buses with 50 seats capacity and sufficient 10 seater vehicles and ambulances. For the village level health service a 20 seater bus and ambulance is available.
