About the Institution
Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Sciences (SSUHS) is a health institute located in Guwahati, Assam. It is the only health university in the North Eastern Region of India, established in 2009 under “The Srimanta Sankaradeva University of Health Science Act, 2007.” SSUHS offers around 90 courses through its 47 affiliated colleges. The university was approved by the University Grant Commission (UGC).
It offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and super-specialty courses in medical sciences, along with courses in nursing, pharmacy, physiotherapy, and Ayurveda, and paramedical streams. The courses offered at the undergraduate level include MBBS, BSc Nursing, BPharm, BSc Medical Technology, BAMS and BHMS. Admission to MBBS is based on marks obtained in NEET UG.
