<h2>St. Joseph's College Hostel, Bengaluru</h2>
<p>St. Joseph's College Hostel in Bengaluru provides hostel accommodation for men. The hostel includes a canteen that offers food to students, and the canteen is run on a co-operative basis.</p>

<h2>Hostel Building and Architecture</h2>
<p>The hostel block is a semi-circular, crescent-shaped stone building constructed in 1948. It is considered a notable example of architecture.</p>
<p>The building originally had 120 single rooms and four large halls, one of which served as a prayer hall. Two of the halls were later converted into cubicles, which increased the total accommodation to 180. Currently, the hostel can house only 118 students.</p>

<h2>Facilities and Amenities</h2>
<h3>Infotainment Room and Sports</h3>
<p>The hostel has spacious common rooms for indoor games, discussions, and recreation. Inmates can play carrom, chess, and table tennis.</p>
<p>The hostel sports committee provides the sports equipment. Students have access to a Badminton Court, Basketball courts, Volleyball court, Cricket and Football grounds, and facilities for other indoor games.</p>

<h3>Room Types</h3>
<p>Rooms are available in the following grades:</p>

<li>Single bed rooms</li>
<li>Two sharing rooms</li>
<li>Cubicles</li>
</ul>
<p>Each student receives a bed, a study table, a study chair, and an almirah.</p>

<h3>Reading Room, Library and TV Room</h3>
<p>The hostel provides daily newspapers to students. Students can use the hostel library and watch TV during their leisure hours.</p>

<h2>Hostel Council and Committees</h2>
<p>Hostellers elect secretaries to the Students' Council through a fair election process. Various committees have been set up for cultural activities, sports, mess, maintenance, and prayer hall activities.</p>
<p>These committees help in the overall personality development of students during their stay. They also organise all the events in the hostel.</p>

<h3>Canteen Committee</h3>
<p>A food committee manages the daily canteen operations to give students real-time marketing and management experience. The committee regulates the monthly purchase of ration and other food items.</p>
<p>Members form groups within the committee, with each group having individual responsibility. They carry out their work meticulously and with transparency.</p>

<h2>St. Berchman's Hostel, Ejipura</h2>
<p>The college has another hostel for boys at Ejipura, about 4 kilometres from the main campus. This hostel can accommodate 20 boys and provides dormitory facilities.</p>

<h2>Admission Procedure</h2>
<p>Male students who have secured admission in the college can apply for either hostel. The application form is available on the college website.</p>
<p>Candidates must download the form, fill in all the details, and email the scanned copy along with the scanned copy of the college fee paid receipt to hosteladmission2023@sju.edu.in.</p>

<h2>Selection Criteria</h2>
<p>Selection is based on merit, geographical location, and the economic condition of the candidate. Selected candidates will receive an e-mail from the Hostel Management for further confirmation.</p>

<li>Incomplete forms will be rejected.</li>
<li>New admissions are only for first-year students.</li>
