Institute of Hotel Management, Rohtak was established in 2012 by the Department of Tourism, Government of Haryana. The institute began with an intake of 40 students. It has grown to become the largest State Government Institute, with an intake of 160 seats in the degree course.

The college was ranked 40th by NIRF in 2022. It offers degree and diploma programs in hotel management. Admission is based on marks in previous qualifying examinations.
