State Institute of Hotel Management -[SIHM]

State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM), Udaipur is a government institute of the Rajasthan Government. It has been providing education in Hotel and Hospitality Management, Applied Nutrition and Catering Technology since 1989. The institute was formerly known as Food Craft Institute and was later upgraded to its current name.

The institute has built a professional community of over 5000 individuals working in the hospitality industry in India and abroad. It offers Degree, Diploma and Certificate programs to students.

The institute aims to provide hospitality education that combines Rajasthani traditions with global industry standards. It focuses on inspiring creativity, adaptability and innovation in hospitality management while fostering honesty, professionalism and ethical values.

The mission is to nurture skilled, innovative and ethically responsible hospitality leaders through high-quality education, practical training and exposure to the tourism and hospitality sector. The vision is to be a globally renowned institute for Hotel and Hospitality education, blending traditions with modern practices.

The journey began in 1989 with the establishment of the Food Craft Institute (FCI) near Chetak Circle, Udaipur. The location is named after Maharana Pratap's legendary horse, Chetak. In its early days, FCI focused on providing specialized training programs for hotels and restaurants, alongside its regular hospitality courses.

In 2002, the institute relocated to Hiran Magri, Sector-14. This move brought affiliation with the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology (NCHMCT), Noida. With this transition, the institute expanded its academic offerings and introduced diploma courses.

In 2019, the institute was renamed the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM), Udaipur. In the same year, it launched its first batch of the Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Hospitality & Hotel Administration (H&HA). This marked its transition into a full-fledged center for higher hospitality education.

SIHM Udaipur is affiliated with NCHMCT, Noida, in collaboration with Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi. The institute has a dedicated and experienced faculty that imparts academic knowledge and fosters personal and professional development.
