AIIMS MBBS 2024 Exam Overview
NEET has replaced the AIIMS MBBS entrance exam. Candidates seeking MBBS admission in AIIMS must appear for NEET 2024.
NEET 2024 is scheduled for May 5, 2024. The exam is an offline, pen and paper-based test for undergraduate aspirants.
The exam is conducted for admission to the MBBS course offered by 15 AIIMS in India. The paper duration is 3½ hours.

The NEET exam pattern for AIIMS MBBS admission includes 200 multiple-choice questions. The paper covers Physics, Chemistry, Botany, and Zoology.

Optical Response Sheet Instructions
Candidates appearing for the exam are provided with an Optical Response Sheet to mark answers. Each question has four options.
- Select one option out of the four given.
- Mark the appropriate circle against the chosen option.
- Use the virtual keypad to select the correct answer.
MBBS First Year Exams
There are six papers in the first year of MBBS. The subjects include human anatomy, physiology, and biochemistry.
This is the first professional examination for MBBS students.
MBBS Passing Marks
The MBBS passing marks have been reduced from 50 per cent to 40 per cent. In subjects with two papers, a student must obtain a minimum of 40 per cent marks in aggregate across both papers together to pass.

Exam Pattern for AIIMS MBBS
The AIIMS MBBS exam is conducted only in offline mode. The total time duration of the exam is 3 hours and 30 minutes.
The question paper contains 200 multiple choice questions. These questions come from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge and Logical Reasoning. Negative marking is applicable for every incorrect answer.

To clear the AIIMS MBBS 2024 exam, candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks. The qualifying marks required are as follows:

Tie-Breaker in AIIMS MBBS 2024
The tie-breaker will be determined in the following order:
- Candidate securing high percentile in Biology will be placed higher on the merit.
- In case of further tie, candidate obtaining high percentile in Chemistry will be placed higher at merit.
- In case of further tie, candidate securing high percentile in Physics will be placed at higher merit.
- If tie persists, candidate senior in age will be given priority.
How to Prepare For AIIMS MBBS 2024
Below are some preparation tips for AIIMS MBBS that can help candidates in clearing this exam:
- Prepare a time table giving proper time to each subject. Just making a time table is also not enough, it must be followed strictly.
- Collect the study material in one place. The study material must be collected as per the exam syllabus.
- Start preparation with simple topics to clear basics. After that, proceed towards advanced topics.
- Once there is fair knowledge of all the topics, solve previous years' question papers for practice.
