CG PET Exam Pattern 2024

The Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CPEB) releases the CG PET exam pattern. The exam is conducted in offline mode as a pen and paper-based test.

CG PET has three sections: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The total number of questions in CGPET is 150, with 50 questions from each section.

Marking Scheme

There is no negative marking in CGPET 2024. One mark is awarded for each correct answer.

  • For each correct answer, one mark is awarded.
  • For every wrong attempt, 0.25 marks are deducted.
  • No marks are deducted or awarded for unattempted questions.
  • Each question has four options, and only one has to be chosen.

CGPET Syllabus 2024

The CGPET syllabus 2024 is based on class 12. Questions are asked from topics studied at the 10+2 level.

Important topics for Physics are Mechanics, Heat and Thermodynamics, Waves and Oscillation, Electrostatics and Magnetism, Optics and Modern Physics.

Yes, you need to study the entire syllabus to perform well in the exam. Research the previous year's question paper to know the most important topics and how much time each topic needs.

Where can I get the CGPET syllabus for 2024?

CPEB will release the CG PET syllabus online at vyapam.cgstate.gov.in. The syllabus contains details about subjects, units and topics for the entrance examination. No other mode will be used to release the syllabus.

Will CGPET be held online?

No, CGPET will be held in offline mode as a pen and paper-based exam. An OMR sheet is given to students during the exam, and they need to tick their answers on it. Once marked, answers cannot be erased.

Important Instructions for Exam Day

Students are advised not to leave any of the above-mentioned topics while preparing for the exam. The following instructions are to be followed by candidates on the exam day.

Exam Day Instructions

Candidates must bring the admit card and a photo identity card to the exam centre. Applicants should carry a Blue or Black ball point pen to fill the OMR sheet.

Students must reach the examination centre within the allotted time. Once the paper starts, no student is allowed to enter the examination hall.

Photograph and Identification Rules

If the photograph on the admit card is not clear, students should carry 2 passport size coloured photographs. The admit card must be kept safe as it will be required for identification during counselling and admission.

Prohibited Items

Using any other item is prohibited in the examination centre. This includes calculators, log tables, scientific calculators, paper, and mobile phones.

Marking Scheme and Answer Key

There is no negative marking. After the exam is conducted, the board will release an answer key.
