Indian Institute of Mass Communication Eligibility Criteria
- For CUET PG-based programmes (all PG Diploma and MA programmes), you need a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognised university.
- A minimum of 50% marks in graduation is required. SC, ST, OBC-NCL, and PwD candidates get a 5% relaxation, so 45% is the minimum for them.
- Final-year students can apply, but must submit their final degree or provisional certificate at the time of IIMC counselling. Provisional admission is confirmed only after submitting the certificate by September 30, 2026.
- There is no upper age limit for CUET PG-based IIMC programmes. Candidates of any age can apply.
- For IIMC’s own entrance test (regional language PG Diploma programmes in Odia, Urdu, Marathi, and Malayalam Journalism), you need a Bachelor’s degree from any recognised university in any subject.
- For regional language programmes, the age limit as of August 1, 2026 is: General category maximum 25 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) maximum 28 years, and SC, ST, and PwD maximum 30 years. You must also be proficient in the programme’s language.
