Dayanand College of Commerce

Dayanand Education Society, Latur was established in the year 1961. In 1960s, the facility of higher education was not available in and around the city. The aspirants had to travel far in other cities for pursuing higher education. In this circumstance, the dignitaries like Late. Manikraoji Sonavane, Late. Raja Narayanlalji Lahoti, Late. Chandrashekherdada Bajpai, Late. Madanlalji Biyani, Late. Shantibhai Shah, Late. Nathmalji Innani, Late. Ranaba Mandade, Late. Ramgopalji Rathi, Late. Tamanappa Utage, Late. Keshavraoji Sonavane established Dayanand College of Arts, Science and Commerce Latur, in the year 1961. Late. Manikraoji Sonavane was the first President and Late. Chandrashekhardada Bajpai was the Secretary. Since then, the society has been continuously progressing by establishing separate single faculty colleges one after another. Today Hon. Laxmiramanji Lahoti, the eminent personality in the educational field is President of the Society and the visionary, the ideal intellectual Hon. Rameshji Biyani is the Secretary.

The independent Dayanand College of Commerce, Latur was established in the year 1967. The institution is granted Re-accreditation A+ with CGPA 3.38 by NAAC (Cycle IV) in the year 2025. The college mission statement is “We build excellent careers”. The college has clearly defined its activities and programmes to achieve its goals and objectives. Initially the college had traditional programmes of B.Com and M.Com but with changing milieu it went on adding various specialized courses. Now the college offers UG specialization in B.Com with General, B.Com with Foreign Trade, B.Com with Computer Application, B.Com with Banking and Insurance, B.com with Accounting & Taxation, B.com with Management & Entrepreneurship, B.C.A, B.B.A and PG in M.Com, MBA and MCA.

Every year a Teachers Orientation Programme (TOP) is organised in which the latest trends in academics by senior, experienced teachers’ are arranged. The use of audio-visual aids such as Computer, LCD projector, Smart board, Microsoft Teams App etc. make the curriculum delivery more effective and interesting. The value added courses such as Tally, NISM, Spoken English, Business English, SWAYAM-NPTEL and Discipline Specific Courses helps in making overall development of students.

The college has research centre in Commerce and Management. The college has qualified and hardworking teaching staff that make it well renowned in the state.
