Why Is AP PGECET Usually Conducted Between April and June?

AP PGECET is timed to feed directly into the postgraduate admission cycle for Andhra Pradesh’s universities and colleges. Holding the exam in late April keeps the result and counselling window inside the May–August band, so M.Tech, M.E., M.Pharm and M.Arch classes can begin alongside the new academic session. The 2026 cycle followed this logic: an April exam, an answer-key and objection phase in early June, and counselling lined up for the July–August window.

  • The exam is held after the GATE/GPAT score validity is confirmed, since GATE/GPAT-qualified students are admitted first and AP PGECET fills the remaining seats.
  • An April–May exam leaves enough buffer for answer-key objections without pushing counselling into the next semester.

What are the AP PGECET 2026 Exam Dates?

The AP PGECET 2026 schedule runs in a fixed chronological order, with each event depending on the previous one. Below, every stage is explained in sequence — what it involved, when it happened or is expected, and what students need to do at that point.

  • Date: May 2026 (Released)
  • Action Required: Completed. Students should download and save their response sheet to compare against the provisional answer key.

AP PGECET 2026 Answer Key & Objection Window

The provisional (preliminary) answer key for AP PGECET 2026 is scheduled for release on 6 June 2026. Students who find any discrepancy can raise objections during the objection window from 6 to 8 June 2026, usually by submitting supporting evidence against a per-question fee. After all objections are reviewed, the final answer key is expected on 14 June 2026, and the result is computed strictly on this final key.

  • Expected Date: Provisional key — 6 June 2026; Objections — 6 to 8 June 2026; Final key — 14 June 2026
  • Action Required: Download the provisional key, calculate your expected score, and file objections with proof before the 8 June 2026 deadline if needed.

AP PGECET 2026 Result & Rank Card Date

The AP PGECET 2026 result is expected to be declared on 14 June 2026, the same day the final answer key is released. The rank card — which carries the qualifying status, marks and rank — is released alongside the result and becomes the single most important document for the counselling stage. As the result is not yet out, students should treat the rank as "to be announced" until the official declaration.

  • Expected Date: 14 June 2026
  • Action Required: Once declared, download and securely save the rank card; it is mandatory for certificate verification and web-option entry during counselling.

AP PGECET 2026 Counselling Schedule

AP PGECET 2026 counselling is expected to begin in July–August 2026 and is conducted by APSCHE. The process involves online registration for counselling, certificate verification, web-option entry (choice filling) and seat allotment, followed by reporting to the allotted institute. Seats are offered for M.Tech, M.E., M.Pharm and M.Arch programmes across participating universities and colleges in Andhra Pradesh.

  • Expected Date: July – August 2026
  • Action Required: Keep all original certificates, the rank card and category/income documents ready in advance, as verification slots are time-bound.

Ques. When will the AP PGECET 2026 final answer key be released?

Ans. The AP PGECET 2026 final answer key is expected on 14 June 2026, after the objection window (6–8 June 2026) closes and all challenges are reviewed. The result is calculated using this final key.

Year-wise AP PGECET Exam Dates and Trends

Looking at the AP PGECET exam dates over the past five years helps students understand the timing pattern of the exam. The table below lists the dates in descending order, with the most recent year first.

Year Exam Date Month Mode
2026 28 – 30 April 2026 April Computer-Based Test
2025 6 – 8 June 2025 June Computer-Based Test
2024 28 – 30 May 2024 May Computer-Based Test
2023 28 – 30 May 2023 May Computer-Based Test
2022 August 2022 August Computer-Based Test

The trend shows AP PGECET has consistently been a multi-day computer-based exam held in the April–June window in recent years, with the post-COVID delayed 2022 cycle (August) being the outlier. The 2026 exam moved earlier to late April — the earliest in the five-year span — which in turn pulled the answer-key and result cycle into early-to-mid June and keeps counselling on track for the July–August window. Students preparing for future cycles should expect a late-April to early-June exam window.

Ques. Has the AP PGECET exam date moved earlier over the years?

Ans. Yes. After an August exam in 2022, AP PGECET settled into a May exam in 2023 and 2024, June in 2025, and the earliest slot yet — late April — in 2026. The recent trend points to an April–June exam window.

Will AP PGECET 2026 Counselling Be Held in Multiple Rounds?

AP PGECET counselling is conducted by APSCHE and has historically run in more than one round to fill all available seats. Based on previous cycles, AP PGECET 2026 counselling is expected to follow a similar multi-round structure once the result is declared on 14 June 2026.

  • Round-wise structure: An initial round (registration, certificate verification, web options and seat allotment) is typically followed by one or more subsequent rounds and a spot/mop-up round for vacant seats.
  • Eligibility: Both AP PGECET-qualified students and GATE/GPAT score holders participate, with GATE/GPAT holders generally given priority in seat allotment.
  • Documents: Rank card, hall ticket, qualifying degree certificates, and category/income proofs are required at verification.

Note: The number of counselling rounds and exact dates for AP PGECET 2026 will be confirmed by APSCHE after the result. Always verify the schedule on the official website before each round.

Ques. When will AP PGECET 2026 counselling begin?

Ans. AP PGECET 2026 counselling is expected to begin in July–August 2026, after the result is declared on 14 June 2026. It will be conducted by APSCHE through online registration, certificate verification, web-option entry and seat allotment.
