AP ICET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) defines the eligibility criteria for AP ICET 2024. Participating colleges may also have their own additional norms. A candidate must hold a Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible.

If a candidate fails to meet any of the AP ICET eligibility criteria, their candidature will be cancelled. Candidates should review the details below before appearing for the exam.

Nationality Requirements

  • Candidates of Indian origin and foreign origin are eligible for the exam.
  • Indian citizens must satisfy the local or non-local status requirements as per the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974, as amended.
  • Admission of foreign candidates is subject to the rules of the universities where they are admitted.

Age Limit

  • There is no upper or lower age limit for AP ICET. Candidates only need to have a graduation degree in their respective field.

Educational Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed a 3-year degree course in any field from a university, or an equivalent degree in the 10+2+3 pattern recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).
  • Students who have passed all subjects of a 3-year degree course in one sitting are not eligible for admission into MBA or MCA courses via this exam.
  • Candidates must secure an aggregate of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories) to be eligible, as per the latest AICTE Approval Process Handbook.
  • Candidates must fulfill the AP ICET eligibility criteria as laid down in relevant Government Orders at the time of admission.
  • A qualifying degree obtained through Distance Learning must be recognized by the Joint Committee of UGC, AICTE, and DEC/DEB.
  • Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam, or awaiting results, are eligible to appear for AP ICET, provided they submit the necessary documents at the time of admission.

Eligibility as per Program

For MBA admission: Candidates must have completed a 3-year degree with 'Mathematics' as one of the subjects till class 10.

For MCA admission: Candidates must have completed a 3-year degree with 'Mathematics' as one of the subjects at intermediate or degree level.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 25% of the total marks in the test to qualify. This means they must obtain 50 marks out of 200.
  • Reserved category students have no prescribed qualifying marks. They will be assigned ranks in order of merit based on the marks obtained in the entrance test.

AP ICET Exam Reservations

Reservation of seats for AP ICET 2024 will follow the state reservation policies laid down by the government. Clarity on the same will be available in the notification released during counseling.

Applicants seeking reserved seats must support their claim with necessary documents. The following categories of applicants are given reservation for admission via this exam.

Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe

  • Applicants in this category can avail reserved seats by showing a category certificate issued by the competent authority at the time of AP ICET Counselling.
  • They can also show an SSC transfer certificate containing the status of minority, or a certificate from the Head Master.

Person with Disability

  • Disability of 40% and above is eligible for reservation.
  • Candidates must show a PH Certificate issued by the District Medical Board.

NCC and Sports

  • Such candidates must show original certificates issued by competent authorities.

CAP People

Students in this category can show the following certificates as applicable:

  • A certificate issued by the Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer.
  • Discharge book (in the case of Ex-Servicemen).
  • Service Certificate (in the case of Service Men) issued by Competent Authority for verification.
  • Applicants whose parents are domiciled in Telangana based on the Permanent Address or Home Town declared at the time of joining service, and recorded in the Service Register, are eligible under the 'CAP' Category.

Anglo-Indian People

  • Such students must show a certificate issued by the competent authority of their place of residence.
