JKCET 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Only permanent residents of Jammu and Kashmir can apply for JKCET 2024. Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination (HSC or 10+2) or an equivalent exam from a recognized board or university.

Open Merit candidates need a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in HSC. Reserved category candidates need a minimum of 40% aggregate marks.

Minimum Educational Qualification

For B. Tech admission, candidates must have passed the qualifying exam with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as main subjects. For Medical courses such as MBBS, BDS, Physiotherapy, and BAMS/BUMS, candidates must have passed with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as main subjects.

Students appearing in the qualifying examination (HSC) are also eligible to apply. Such students must submit original mark sheets at the time of counselling if selected. If a student fails to achieve the minimum percentage in the qualifying exam, he or she will not be considered for admission.

Age Criteria

No minimum or maximum age limit is set for appearing in JKCET 2024.

Eligibility for Open Merit Candidates

Open Merit candidates are those registered under the TFW or P&B category. For MBBS and BDS courses, candidates must have passed English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology independently in 10+2.

  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in the qualifying examination.
  • Minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in JKCET 2024 to appear in the merit list.

Eligibility for Reserved Category Candidates (SC/ST/Other Backward Classes)

Reserved category candidates must score a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in 10+2 examinations. They also need a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology in JKCET 2024 to appear in the merit list.

Eligibility criteria for Reserved Category students follow the provisions of Reservation Rules and MCI/DCI Regulations.

JKCET 2024 Reservation Criteria

Reservation rules apply only in government-funded colleges unless specified by a private college. If a Reserved Category Certificate is found invalid, the candidate will be treated as an Open Merit Candidate.

JKCET 2024 Domicile and Age Requirements

You must have a UT of J&K domicile certificate. An ST certificate issued by the competent Authority of UT of Ladakh is treated as a Domicile certificate of UT of Ladakh.

There is no minimum or maximum age limit to appear for JKCET 2024.

JKCET 2024 Central Pool Seats

Reserved Category Certificate Rules for JKCET

The competent authority will not give any notice about the validity of the Reserved Category Certificate. A certificate that has expired or is still under process will not be accepted under any circumstances.

If a certificate is valid at the time of application but expires before the JKCET Counselling Process, the candidate must get it renewed on or before the date of counselling. A candidate can mention only one reserved category even if they belong to more than one.

Fill the category details carefully. A candidate will not be allowed to change the category option once selected at any stage. The category code provided at the relevant serial number of the application number will be taken into consideration.

Central Pool Seats Reservation

The details of Central Pool seats are received by BOPEE from different ministries every year. Seats will be allocated to candidates on the basis of merit.

Only those candidates who have qualified JKCET 2024 will be considered for allotment of seats under the Central Pool Category. The reservation percentage for each category is given below.

  • Marks certificate of the qualifying examinations i.e. Class 12 mark list
  • Date of birth proof i.e. Matriculation / Secondary School Certificate from the Board of School Education
  • Residence Proof Certificate of UT of J&K or Ladakh as the case may be.
  • Category Certificate, if any.
  • Any other document as may be required by the Institution.
