MICAT Exam Pattern
The MICAT 2025 syllabus is divided into three sections: Psychometric Test, Descriptive Test, and Section C. Section C is further split into four parts: Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal Ability; Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation; and General Awareness.
According to the MICAT 2025 section-wise marks distribution, the Descriptive section has four questions. The Psychometric section has 36-37 anticipated questions, making it the section with the highest weightage. In Section C, Quantitative Aptitude and Data Interpretation and General Awareness each have 25 questions, while Divergent and Convergent Thinking has 26 questions.
Section A is a Psychometric Test covering individual facets like personality factors, situational judgements, and personality traits. In Section B, candidates must write essays, arguments, personal opinions, and provide stories based on given pictures. There is a sectional time limit for all three sections.
The MICAT 2025 question paper is computer-based. Candidates get 2 hours 45 minutes, or 165 minutes total, to finish the entire set of questions in English. Each correct answer receives +1 mark. Only Section C has a negative marking of -0.25. Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation from Section C is the most difficult part.

- MICAT 2025 Section A, Psychometric Test, is a qualifier round.
- If an aspirant qualifies for Section A, their relative performance in CAT/XAT/GATE will be considered.
- If the candidate qualifies for the above, then only Section B will be considered.
- Scores in Section C will be considered for candidates who qualify the basic cut off for Section B.
- Based on scores of Section C, candidates will be shortlisted for the GE and PI Round of MICAT 2025.
- The GE & PI candidate list will consider the Composite Score formula of 50% CAT/XAT/GMAT and 50% MICAT scores.

MICAT Section A Syllabus: Psychometric Test
Section A of MICAT 2025 is a Psychometric Test. It is the qualifying round for the exam.
The paper assesses a candidate's personality to check if they are a good fit for the institute. It is a psychological test, not a test of knowledge, so candidates should answer honestly.

Previous psychometric tests had three sets of questions:
- The first set had 30 statements. Candidates had to pick the 10 best qualities related to their own personality.
- Candidates had to choose from 2 arguments and rate them based on how close they were to their personality.
- In the third set, candidates rated responses on a scale of 1 to 6 for a given scenario, based on their priority.

MICAT Section B Syllabus: Descriptive Test
Section B of MICAT 2025 is a Descriptive Test. It assesses the candidate's writing and language skills.
Marks are given on the basis of fluency, articulation, language, and grammar. The candidate's creativity is also tested.

MICAT General Awareness Syllabus
The General Awareness section tests the general knowledge of candidates. Questions can be asked from any year, from either Static GK or Current Affairs.
