NMIMS NPAT 2025 Syllabus
The NMIMS NPAT 2025 syllabus covers Logical Reasoning & General Intelligence and Quantitative & Numerical Ability. NMIMS NPAT Paper 2 tests Spatial Ability and Visualization Skills, Observation & Problem Solving, and General Awareness & Design Sensibility.
NMIMS NPAT 2025 is scheduled from March 1 to May 31, 2025. Candidates should know the NMIMS NPAT Exam Pattern before reviewing the syllabus.
What is NPAT?
NMIMS Programs After Twelfth (NPAT) is conducted by constituent schools of SVKM's Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies. The exam is for students seeking admission to Undergraduate and Integrated Degree Programs offered by NMIMS at Mumbai, Shirpur, Indore, Navi Mumbai, and Bengaluru Campuses.
NMIMS NPAT Exam Pattern
There are 2 papers in NMIMS NPAT: Paper 1 (Common) and Paper 2 (Design). Each paper has 3 sections.
- NMIMS NPAT Paper 1 tests Proficiency in the English Language, Logical Reasoning & General Intelligence, and Quantitative & Numerical Ability.
- NMIMS NPAT Paper 2 tests Spatial Ability and Visualization Skills, Observation & Problem Solving, and General Awareness & Design Sensibility.
NMIMS NPAT 2025 Paper 1 in Detail
Paper 1 has three sections. The section-wise syllabus, books, and preparation tips are given below.
Syllabus for Proficiency in the English Language
This section tests grammar and comprehension. Questions are asked from the following topics:
- Reading comprehension
- Synonyms
- Cloze test (fill in the blanks)
- Para-Jumble
- Spot the error/Sentence completion

Preparation Tips for English Language
- Read a newspaper and a magazine covering contemporary events regularly. This builds vocabulary and helps with the General Knowledge section.
- Brush up on grammar basics for error detection and sentence correction questions.
- Identify unfamiliar words and understand their meaning and usage.
- Listen to speeches or watch movies and documentaries with subtitles. This improves spoken English knowledge for sentence completion and para jumble questions.
- Speak in English with others. Mistakes are common at first, but confidence and accuracy improve with practice.

Preparation Tips
- Spend some seconds over a question and study each question carefully. A brief explanation of why each choice is correct or incorrect should go into candidates’ minds.
- Candidates should never assume or use any information which is not given in the question. Observe only the information given in each question when choosing among the alternative responses.
- Read both the factual passage and the sentence completion instruction carefully. Both must be considered in making your choice.
- Be sure to read all the response choices carefully before eliminating or choosing one of them.
- The candidate can solve most of these questions by following certain tricks and shortcut methods. Therefore, a practice of previous year papers and chapter-wise questions is important.
- The candidate should solve questions regularly to get a good grip of it as ample practice should be there.
- Candidate can also prepare for this section is by regularly solving crossword puzzles, Sudoku, riddles etc.
NMIMS NPAT 2025 Paper 2 – Design
NMIMS NPAT Paper 2 is held to test candidates’ ability in Spatial Ability and Visualization Skills, Observation & Problem Solving, and General Awareness & Design Sensibility. The NMIMS NPAT Syllabus for Design Paper is as follows.

The total time allotted to this section is 30 minutes. This section consists of 20 MCQs which should be completed in a duration of 20 minutes.
The syllabus for Observation and Problem Solving is divided into four constructs. Each construct has specific sub-constructs and a set number of questions.
Construct 1: Ability to detect concealed properties
- Ability to detect complexity/problems related to ease-of-use of modern/day-to-day devices: 4 questions
- Ability to understand spatial relations among 2D and 3D objects: 2 questions
Construct 2: Applying attention to details
- Creative Problem Solving Techniques (Preparation, Incubation, Illumination, and Verification): 4 questions
- Bottom to top and top to down approaches: 2 questions
Construct 3: Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties
- Knowledge of the spatial composition, lighting, Golden Ratio, Rule of Thirds, Balance, Colour preference (Hue, Saturation, lightness): 3 questions
Construct 4: Using these to solve problems
- Use of fonts as the element for communication or merely font awareness: 2 questions
- Use of design elements, design and perception principles, spatial properties, cultural preferences, and structured design process: 3 questions
NMIMS NPAT 2025 Syllabus for General Awareness and Design
The total time allotted to this section is 30 minutes. This section consists of 20 MCQs which should be completed in a duration of 20 minutes.
The syllabus for General Awareness and Design is divided into three constructs. Each construct has specific sub-constructs and a set number of questions.
Construct 1: General awareness of environmental factors
- Design for Environment to achieve sustainability- Green Design: 3 questions
- Process changes and Product changes (focus on intangible products): 3 questions
Construct 2: Awareness of social and cultural connection with design
- Designing for social and cultural sustainability- Inclusive Design: 4 questions
- Principles of Inclusive design: Responsive, Flexible, Convenient, Accommodating, Welcoming, and Realistic: 3 questions
- Visual culture- Culture expressed in visual images: 3 questions
Construct 3: History of art, sculpture, and literature
