Mehr Chand Mahajan Dayanand Anglo Vedic College for Women - [MCM DAV]

Mehr Chand Mahajan DAV College for Women, Chandigarh, is commonly known as MCM DAV. It was established in 1968 by the DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi. The college is named after Justice Mehr Chand Mahajan, a former Chief Justice of India, to honor his contributions as a legal expert, patriot, administrator, educationist, social reformer, and humanist.

The college focuses on producing educated and capable women who can become future decision-makers and policy leaders. Its mission is to maintain quality in higher education and meet the challenges of changing times. MCM DAV has been serving the region for 43 years and is known as a 'Zero-Pollution Zone' due to its environmental preservation efforts.

The college offers several student support services to help students become responsible members of society. These services include:

• Legal Literacy Club: MCM DAV was the first college in the city to start this club. It focuses on women empowerment through legal awareness.
• Grievance Cell: This cell allows students to communicate directly with the management. Locked boxes are placed in the college and hostel for students to submit their grievances.
• Character Building Cell: This cell supports the moral development of students. Activities include visiting old-age homes, participating in hawans, and engaging in social outreach programs.
• Health Care Unit: The unit manages students' health issues. It provides services of a general physician, a gynecologist, and a skin specialist.
• Geetanjali: This is a helpline for students facing emotional, psychological, or social problems.
• N.C.C: The NCC unit develops discipline, patriotism, leadership, and fraternity among students. It offers both Army and Navy wings.
• N.S.S: The NSS helps enrich students' personalities and deepen their understanding of the social environment.

The college has won the Panjab University General Efficiency All-Round Championship in sports 37 times in its 43 years of existence. Special facilities are provided for outstanding players:
