Government Medical College and Hospital - [GMCH]

GMCH Chandigarh, also known as Government Medical College & Hospital Chandigarh, was established in 1991. It is affiliated with Panjab University and is approved by national regulatory bodies like the National Medical Commission and the Indian Nursing Council. GMCH Chandigarh is situated in Sector 32 on a 32-acre urban campus and ranked 34 among medical colleges in the NIRF 2025 rankings.

GMCH Chandigarh offers flagship programmes, such as MBBS, which includes 150 seats for students and admissions are done through the NEET UG Entrance exam. GMCH also offers undergraduate courses, including B.Sc. Nursing, B.Sc. Radiotherapy, BMLS, and B.Sc. Optometry, along with several postgraduate courses, such as M.Sc., MD, and MS programmes. Admissions in these UG and PG courses are based on the GMCH Combined Entrance Test. The average fees for flagship programs, such as MBBS, at the institute are INR 25,000 per year.

GMCH Chandigarh also provides placement facilities, especially for postgraduate students or MD/MS/M.Sc programs. However, GMCH College offers a compulsory internship of 6 Months or a year for various undergraduate courses such as MBBS and B.Sc.
