About the Institution
Government Degree College, Baramulla was started as an English Medium school in 1905. Gradually, it was upgraded to include High school, Intermediate college and finally a degree college in the year 1943. Earlier the college was affiliated to Punjab University Lahore.
However, in 1963 the government of Jammu & Kashmir took over the college and presently the college is affiliated to the University of Kashmir. It is located at 51 Kms from Srinagar, NH 1A, Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir-193103. The Institute has also been awarded an A++ grade by NAAC.
It offers Graduate courses in the field of Science, Business Studies and Humanities. Post-graduate courses in Mathematics and Masters in Computer Applications are also available. Application mode for the college is both online and offline and the basic admission criteria to the Institute is Merit-Based.
