Film and Television Institute of India Entrance Exam Exam Pattern
The FTII ET 2025-26 written test is a single 3-hour offline (pen-and-paper) exam carrying 100 marks. It has two parts: Part I (objective) and Part II (descriptive).
- Part I: 30 objective questions (MCQs and MSQs) for 40 marks. Negative marking of –0.25 per wrong answer applies.
- Part II: Descriptive and essay-type questions, course-specific, for 60 marks. The number of questions varies by course. No negative marking.
- Total: 100 marks, 3 hours combined for both parts.
Clearing the written test (Stage 1) shortlists you for Stage 2 at the FTII campus. The final merit list combines both stages.
- Stage 1 (Written Test): 20% weightage in final merit.
- Stage 2 (Orientation Assessment at FTII Pune Campus): 50% weightage.
- Stage 2 (Personal Interview at FTII Pune Campus): 30% weightage.
Stage 2 together carries 80% of your final merit score. A high written test score alone will not guarantee a seat if your orientation and interview performance is weak.
