GCET 2024 Counseling Procedure
The counseling process for GCET 2024 involves several steps. Candidates must follow the procedure as outlined below.
- Applicants must fill the application form in their own handwriting and sign it properly to participate in counseling.
- Applicants must mention the category in which they wish to be admitted on the application form.
- Candidates filled different application forms for different courses.

GCET 2024 Merit List

The All India Rank, Percentile, and Score Card of NEET UG issued by NTA will be considered for this merit list.
GCET Merit List for Bachelor of Engineering
The merit list for Bachelor of Engineering is prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in Physics and Mathematics. In case of a tie, the candidate with more marks in Mathematics is given preference.
If the tie continues, Chemistry marks are considered. If Chemistry marks are also equal, the marks in Physics and Mathematics at the intermediate level or Qualifying Examination are considered.
If all the above criteria are equal, the candidate who is higher in age is given preference.
GCET Merit List for Pharmacy
The merit list for Pharmacy candidates is prepared based on marks in Physics and Chemistry. In a tie, the candidate scoring more marks in Chemistry is given weightage.
If the tie persists, the candidate with higher aggregate marks in Physics and Chemistry at the intermediate level is given preference. Candidates with high marks in Chemistry are placed higher in the merit list.
As a last resort, the tie is broken on the basis of age. Applicants with an earlier date of birth are placed higher in order.
GCET Merit List for Architecture
The provisional merit list for Architecture is released after the exam is conducted. Aggregate marks scored in NATA 2023 and the Qualifying examination are considered to prepare the merit list for Bachelor in Architecture.
Both marks are considered in a 1:1 ratio, with 50% weightage for each. In case of a tie, the candidate with more NATA scores is preferred. After that, candidates with high marks in Mathematics are placed higher on the merit list.
GCET 2024 Cut Off
The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Goa determines the minimum scores required for admission to various undergraduate engineering courses. DTE, Goa conducts GCET 2024 and is the competent authority that decides the GCET 2024 cutoff marks.
The GCET 2023 cutoff determinants included several factors. These were candidates' performance, seat capacity of the courses and colleges, total number of candidates, difficulty level of the paper, and reservation policy.
Applicants who fail to meet the GCET 2024 cutoff will not be considered eligible for admission to B.Tech/BE programs. On the basis of the cutoff, DTE Goa prepares the GCET 2024 merit list for examinees.
Seats are allocated to candidates according to their ranks in the GCET 2024 merit list.

Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) Overview
