The hostel facilities at the Himalayan Institute of Technology aim to provide a convenient and secure living space for outstation students, fostering a conducive atmosphere for learning and personal development within the campus community. Himalayan Institute of Technology provides hostel facilities for outstation students, conveniently located within the campus premises. Separate accommodation is available for both girls and boys, equipped with all necessary amenities and security measures. Each hostel is overseen by a dedicated warden who ensures the well-being and safety of the students residing there. The warden addresses any concerns or issues raised by the students and facilitates a supportive living environment conducive to academic success and personal growth. To ensure safety and security the hostels are equipped with CCTV surveillance systems, and security guards are stationed round-the-clock for enhanced protection.
Hostel accommodation is offered to students of all courses based on a first-come, first-served policy. It is important to ensure that all information submitted in the hostel application form is complete and accurate, as any discrepancies or false details may lead to the cancellation of the accommodation offer. Furthermore, the accommodation should be regarded as provisional until it receives formal approval from the hostel authority and full payment of the hostel fees is made.
Students must make a one-time payment covering the hostel fee for the entire academic year, in addition to a refundable deposit, upon admission. This fee covers one academic year corresponding to the Institute’s calendar. Once the room is allotted, students may move in immediately. The full payment of the hostel fees is due one week before the beginning of the hostel tenure.
Occupation or use of hostel premises and property does not confer any tenancy rights or similar claims to students. Students are granted only temporary accommodation under the rules and regulations set by the Institute, which are subject to change. Students will be required to vacate the room within 10 days of completion of the scheduled examination each year.
Students must provide and register the details of a local guardian, with confirmation required from their parents. Furthermore, either the parents or the local guardian are required to sign a copy of the hostel regulations.
Each student will receive a set of keys for their designated room and cupboard from the hostel in-charge. The Institute is not responsible for the safety of personal belongings; hence, students are encouraged to securely lock their valuables in the cupboard. It is advised that students do not leave mobile phones, jewelry, or other valuable items unattended. Unauthorized changes to the locks are prohibited. Students should obtain duplicate keys only with the approval of the hostel supervisor to avoid any losses. When vacating the room, students are required to return the keys in accordance with hostel regulations.
The hostel In-charge or other designated officials from the Institute reserve the right to inspect any student room or belongings within it. These inspections can occur at any time, day or night, and will be conducted in the presence of the students of the room.
Students owning two-wheelers are required to obtain approval from the hostel In-charge by submitting copies of their vehicle registration and driving license. The use of four-wheelers by students is prohibited both on the hostel premises and in the surrounding perimeter areas where parking is not permitted.
