IMU CET 2026 Exam Pattern
The Indian Maritime University has released the exam pattern for IMU CET 2026. The exam is conducted for admission into B.Tech, B.Sc (except BBA), M.Tech, M.Sc, and MBA courses.
UG technical courses will have 200 questions. PG technical programs and MBA courses will have 120 MCQs.

Exam Pattern for UG Courses
The exam is held in online or Computer Based Mode only. There is no offline test option. Candidates mark answers on the computer screen.
The exam duration is 3 hours. It is held in a single slot between 11 am and 2 pm.
The following pattern applies to all UG courses except BBA (Logistics, Retailing and E-Commerce):

Types of Questions
- All questions are Objective type Multiple Choice questions.
- Each question has four options, out of which only one is correct.
IMU CET 2026 Marking Scheme
Each correct answer gets +1 mark. Each incorrect answer gets -0.25 marks.
Unattempted questions get 0 marks. There is a sectional time limit, and candidates should not spend more than 1-2 minutes per question.

Important Instructions for Candidates
Candidates must follow certain instructions while appearing for the online IMU CET 2026 exam.
Login
- The candidate's details, including name and photograph, will be displayed on the allotted computer screen.
- Candidates have to enter the 'Username' as instructed in the Admit Card at the scheduled time, usually 10 minutes before the exam.
- After entering the Username and Password, click on the "Sign In" button.
Reading Instructions
- Read the instructions carefully as they contain all exam-related information.
- Click on the "I am ready to begin" button. The test will start only at the scheduled time.
- The timer starts counting after clicking the "I am ready to begin" button.
Test Taking Process
- Candidates can click on a question number in the Question Palette on the right side of the screen to go directly to that question.
- Select an answer from the four options by clicking the circle button in front of the option.
- To change an answer, click the circle button of another option. To cancel an answer, click the Clear Response button.
- Click the Save & Next button to save an answer. Answers are not saved otherwise.
- Click the Mark for Review & Next button to mark a question for review. An answered and marked question will be considered in evaluation.
- The Submit button is not available until the exam time ends. The system will submit the test automatically after the Exam Closure time.
- The exam summary will show Subject Name, number of questions answered, not answered, marked for review, and not visited.
- Confirm the submission by clicking the 'Yes' button.
Timer
- The countdown timer starts after clicking the "I am ready to begin" button.
- Candidates can check the timer to see the time left to complete the test.
