Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Entrance Test Eligibility Criteria

TISSNET (CUET PG) 2024 Eligibility Criteria

The Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) no longer conducts its own entrance test. Admission to its postgraduate courses is now done through the CUET PG 2024 exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the eligibility criteria for this exam.

Nationality

Indian Nationals belonging to certain categories are admitted under seats reserved for them. These reservations follow the rules prescribed by the Government of India.

Age Limit

There is no minimum or maximum age limit to sit for the CUET PG entrance examination.

Educational Qualifications

You must obtain a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field. NTA has not set any minimum qualifying marks. However, it is advised to score 50% or above in aggregate to be on the safe side.

Factors Determining TISSNET (CUET PG) Eligibility 2024

TISS has laid out several factors that determine if a candidate is eligible to fill the CUET PG application form. These are listed below.

  • The 'Pass Class' indicated in the candidate's Bachelor's Degree is used to determine eligibility.
  • Candidates in the final year of a 3 or 4-year graduation program who have not cleared all courses (main, major or substitute) of the 1st and 2nd year are not eligible.
  • Candidates with a 10+2+2+1 bridge course pattern, or any other pattern with 15 years of formal education from a recognized university or institute, are eligible.
  • Only candidates who can complete all requirements of their final year Bachelor's Degree examinations by June 2024 are eligible for all TISS courses.
  • Incorrect or misleading information in the application form will result in cancellation of candidature.
  • Candidates who failed the final year exam of their Bachelor's Degree cannot take part in the entrance exam for TISS programs.
  • Candidates given provisional admission who fail in the final year will not be allowed to continue the program.
  • Candidates must produce all original marksheets and documents at the time of the interview. If they fail to do so, they may get provisional admission, provided they submit the marksheets by the specified date.

Program Specific Eligibility for TISS Courses

Apart from the general eligibility defined by the conducting body, there are other eligibility standards for all programs. Applicants should carefully go through the detailed course-wise eligibility criteria before registering for the CUET PG exam.

TISSNET Selection Process 2024

For the TISS 2024 selection process, admission is based on 75% weightage in CUET PG and 25% in an online assessment. The online assessment is taken by three panel members of Tezpur University.

During the online assessment, you will be given certain topics on which you must put forward your opinions in 2-3 minutes. After the interview rounds are complete, the official will release an open merit list of all shortlisted students. A tie-breaking policy is used if two or more students obtain the same scores.

CUET PG 2024 Exam Dates

This year, the CUET PG exam was conducted from March 11 to March 28, 2024. The result came out on April 13, 2024.
