What is TISSNET?

TISS National Entrance Test is known as TISSNET. It was a university-level entrance exam for admission to PG programmes at TISS. These programmes include social work, human resource management, and public development studies.

From this year onwards, merit lists will be prepared based on CUET PG and CAT scores. The authority has scrapped the separate TISSNET exam process since last year.

Admission Through CAT and CUET PG

TISS offers a total of 57 PG courses. It accepts CUET PG scores for courses like MBA, MA, M.Sc, and M.Ed.

For MA in Human Resource Management and Labour Relations and in Organisation Development Change and Leadership, it accepts CAT score.

How to Apply for TISSNET?

You will have to visit the official website of TISS at admissions.tiss.edu. Using your login id you can apply for admission.

Are You Eligible?

The CAT Registration 2024 window is open for the candidates. The last date of registration is September 13th, 2024.

Candidates willing to participate in the exam can apply through iimcat.ac.in. IIM Calcutta will conduct the exam on November 24th, 2024.

Eligibility Criteria

You must have completed a Bachelor's or Master's Degree of minimum 3 or 4 years duration, or its equivalent, to apply. The degree must be from a university recognized by the UGC of India.

The degree pattern can be 10+2+3, 10+2+4, or 10+2+2+1 year bridge course. You must have passed all subjects in your 3-year or 4-year degree programme at the time of applying.

Admission remains provisional until you submit your degree certificate and final mark/grade sheet by the given date. These documents serve as evidence of completing the eligibility criteria.

Exam Pattern

There is no separate TISSNET exam. Admission is offered through CUET PG and CAT scores.

CUET PG

  • The total number of questions will be 75 in each subject.
  • The total marks is 300.
  • You will be awarded +4 for one right attempt.
  • -1 will be deducted for one wrong answer.

CAT

  • A total of 66 questions will be there.
  • Not all questions will be asked in MCQ format.
  • Each question will carry 3 marks.
  • 1 mark negative marking for every wrong answer.
  • The total marks is 198.

Syllabus

CAT Syllabus includes Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR) and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). There are a total of 66 questions asked from each section, with approximately 20 questions per section.

For CUET PG, you need domain-based knowledge. Refer to the CUET PG Syllabus for the specific subjects.

Preparation Tips

If you are preparing for CUET PG, your strategy will be different. You will have to obtain domain-based knowledge for this exam.

  • Pick the best 2-3 books on the same topics.
  • Make short notes from each book on similar topics and compare them. This helps you understand the concept well.
  • Solve questions from previous year's papers.
  • Once you finish the syllabus, give as many mocks as you can. Evaluate your performance after each mock.
  • Analyse your mistakes and try to correct them. Highlight them or make short notes if needed.
  • A few days before the exam, revise only those notes.
