Tezpur University 2024 Open Merit List (OML)
Tezpur University publishes an open merit list (OML) based on scores obtained in the CUET PG 2024 exam. The merit list calculation includes the personal interview round.
In the online interview, you will be asked to give your opinion on a given topic for 2-3 minutes. The total online assessment lasts 20-25 minutes and is conducted by three panel members. You can ask for a second topic if you are not comfortable with the initial one.
TISSNET 2024 Merit List Preparation and Tie-Breaker
If two or more students obtain similar scores during final merit list preparation, a tie-breaking policy is implemented. The wait list for each program is prepared by Tezpur University following the same rules as the merit list.
It is advised to present your opinions in a simple manner with good vocabulary for a better chance of selection.
How is the Open Merit List (OML) Prepared?
The Open Merit List (OML) is based on the aggregate mark obtained by candidates for a specific programme, without considering any reservation category. Candidates from all categories can get selected in the OML based on their aggregate score.
After the OML, a separate Category-wise Merit List (CML) is prepared for the number of seats reserved for each category. Reservation rules follow Government of India and University Grants Commission regulations and are applied at the final merit list or seat allotment stage.
The merit list preparation process is the same for Reserved Category and General Category candidates. Tezpur University's merit list 2024 is prepared on the basis of merit and the preferences indicated at the time of filling the application form.
Tie Breaking Policy
When two or more candidates have the same aggregate final score, the following order is used to rank them.
| The Situation of Tie in | Selection will be based on Higher |
|---|---|
| Final Score | TISS Online Assessment Mark |
| TISS Online Assessment Mark | CUET PG 2024 score |
| CUET PG 2024 score | Date of Birth |
Rules for Preparation of Wait-list
- Candidates who get admission to the programme of their first preference will not be on waitlists for any other programme mentioned in their list of preferences.
- A candidate who gets admission into a programme which is their second preference will only be retained in the waitlist of the first preference.
- A candidate who gets admission into a programme which is their third preference will be retained in the waitlist of their first and second preference.
- Candidates admitted to a programme lower in their order of preferences will be retained in the wait-list of a higher preference until the seats in that programme are filled.
- If a candidate qualifies in two programmes at the same time when the waitlist is activated, the higher preference prevails and the Institute offers admission only to the higher preference.
- When a candidate who has already taken admission as per the first merit list is later offered a higher preference when the waitlist is activated, they will be moved into the higher preference programme and informed.
Candidates who got selected for the programme of their first preference will not be listed in the second and third preference in the merit list. They will also not be on wait lists for any other programme mentioned in their list of preferences.
In addition to the aggregate final score, the candidate can view the scorecard indicating the mark received in each component, which are the CUET PG Score and the Online Assessment (OA).
Choices or preferences of programmes indicated in the application form cannot be changed after submission. Any request for change or modification will not be entertained or responded to.
