XIC OET 2025 Exam Pattern
XIC OET 2025 has two sections. Part A is objective and Part B is subjective. The total duration is 120 minutes, with 60 minutes for each part.
The objective section carries 100 marks. The subjective section has three questions for a total of 100 marks.
- Objective topics include general knowledge, language, and media.
- Subjective questions include essay writing, creative writing, and an opinion piece.

Part I includes objective type questions on language skills, general knowledge, knowledge about media, match the idioms, match company logos, and match random names.
Part II includes an essay on a current affair topic (200 words), an opinion piece (250 words), and creative writing on a visual (100 words).
In the subjective section, answers must be in proper English. Answers using SMS language or short forms will not be evaluated.
XIC OET 2025 Important Points
The test is conducted in online mode as a computer-based test (CBT). The exam duration is 90 minutes.
- The question paper has two parts: subjective and objective.
- The objective part has 100 questions of 100 marks.
- The subjective part is of 50 marks.
- Total marks for the exam are 150.
- After qualifying the CBT, candidates are called for an interview.
- Candidates who applied for PR, MCM, and AICP courses are not required to appear for the Personal Video Interview session.
XIC OET 2025 Exam Syllabus
The syllabus for XIC OET 2025 is divided into two parts. The objective section evaluates candidates on general knowledge, knowledge of media, language skills, and logical and analytical skills.
The subjective section has media-related questions. These assess writing skills, creativity, and social values.
XIC OET 2025 Dates
XIC OET 2025 is scheduled on April 5, 6, 7, and 13, 2025. Xavier Institute of Communications Mumbai conducts the XIC OET, which is the Online Entrance Test.
The exam screens candidates for admission into Post-graduate Diploma Courses in mass communication. Candidates who qualify in the entrance exam must appear for the next round, which includes a Personal Interview and Group Discussion.

XIC OET 2025 Important Instructions
Candidates appearing for the exam must follow these instructions. They cover how to manage time and what to carry.
- Solve easy and direct questions first. These questions take less time to answer and help use time efficiently.
- Attach the same passport size photograph on the admit card that was uploaded on the application form.
- Carry a printed copy of the downloaded call letter along with a photo id proof, in original.
- You can carry any of these photo id proofs: Aadhar card, passport, pan card, etc.
Note: Do not forget to carry the admit card and id proof to the examination hall. Without these documents, you will not be allowed to sit in the exam.
