The M.Sc. by Research in the Faculty of Engineering is designed to make students go beyond a taught master's degree to higher levels of research, though not necessarily as far as that of a doctoral student. It aims to develop knowledge and expertise in the chosen field of engineering in an invigorating environment that comprises of the supervisor's own research group along with other doctoral researchers. This makes for a better exposure to current engineering research. The course ensures that students can also collaborate with researchers from industry. M.Sc. (Engg.) by Research in the Faculty of Engineering is offered at CIPET : SARP - APDDRL in Bengaluru. M.Sc. graduates of this course move into careers in commercial engineering, many have also made careers in mathematical modelling, system design and other such career paths.
