My knowledge is limited to the individual institutes and not their political science departments. In my opinion, Dayal Singh is a better choice than ARSD. here are a few reasons that justify my opinion
- Dyal Singh College has better infrastructure, a great location, and easy access to the metro station. Whereas. The metro line is still under construction near ARSD College.
- Both colleges are listed among the top 10 colleges in India.
- The crowd quality is similar in both the colleges with Dyal Singh giving a slight edge to ARSD.
- Dyal Singh has excellent amenities with a basketball court and spacious ground.

Dyal Singh College has 208 seats and has better infrastructure and facilities, while Pgdav has 186 in b.com Hons.
Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering is a part of Dayanand Sagar University campus. DSCE is an autonomous institution and is affiliated with VTU. Dayanand Sagar Institutions as a whole are well-known for their quality of education.
You don’t need to worry about placements, because placement drive happens under one roof, i.e. DSI. If you are skilled and maintain a good percentile throughout your degree, you can get decent placement opportunities. The average package offered during the recent placement drive at DSU is 6 LPA. During 2021 placements, the highest package offered for DSCE was INR 32 LPA.
According to the reviews online, Sri Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce (SGGSCC) is a very well maintained institution. They have a proper infrastructure with a good faculty and student crowd. Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) is also academically a good institute.
It is suggested that you do not go for Dyal Singh College (DSC) but opt for anyone among the other two mentioned.
Between SGGSCC and SBSC make your choice based on the location. If you belong to South Delhi, Noida or Gurgaon, then choose SBSC. If you are from any other part of Delhi choose SGGSCC.
If you are from an outstation choose SGGSCC as overall living cost in North Delhi is cheaper than South Delhi and you can also stay near North Campus which will help you interact with a much more diverse set of people.
Among the mentioned two colleges, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (SBSC) will be a better choice for B.Com (Hons.).
- It is well known for its commerce courses.
- It is considered the best commerce college of Delhi University.
- B.Com is really good here with proper academics and placement records.
| Categories | B.Com at SBSC | B.Com at DSC |
| Course Fee | INR 23,000 | INR 27,000 |
| Placement Percentage | 80-90% | 78% |
| Highest CTC | 15 LPA | 20 LPA |
| Average CTC | 8 LPA | 4.8 LPA |
| Recruiting Companies | KPMG, Wipro, JSW, BYJU's etc. | TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, etc. |
Dyal Singh College (DSC) is good but when compared to SBSC, it is more of a second option for commerce students after SBSC.
Dyal Singh College (DSC) is a really good college. The cut offs for Deen Dayal Upadhyaya College (DDUC) for B.Com (Hons) is higher than DSC.
- SC has one of the best locations in India. It is situated in Lodhi road which is considered to be the most expensive residence.
- It is close to Khan market which is the most expensive market in india.
- It is behind the JLN Stadium, which has the closest metro station.
- The campus of DSC is huge and spacious.
- The infrastructure is maintained and taken care of almost every year.
- They have a better faculty than DDUC.
Lastly, it is advised that you choose the college on the basis of a course you want to pursue. At last you will realize that college hardly matters. Because during placements your skills will make you stand out and not the college name.
It is suggested that you go for Delhi College of Arts and Commerce (DCAC) rather than Dyal Singh College (DSC).
Here are some reasons why:
- If you want a college with better infrastructure and canteen opt for DSC.
- On the other hand DCAC provides excellent Extra-curricular activities, societies, clubs, placements and overall exposure.
- The faculty of both the colleges are good. DSC is better in B.A subjects but not economics.
- DCAC has better connectivity. It is near to metro stations on the yellow line and pink line. Whereas DSC is only close to JLN stadium metro station on the violet line.
- Neither of the two colleges offer hostel facilities.
- But it is easier to find accommodation near DCAC than to DSC.
- Accommodation near DCAC is also affordable.
Therefore overall DCAC is a much better choice. But in the end it depends on individual preference. Try visiting both the colleges, explore, talk to the alumni or faculty members, if possible and then take the decision.
Among Dyal Singh College (DSC) (morning) and Rajdhani College (morning), students usually prefer DSC rather than Rajdhani. This is due to the following reasons:
- Mathematics at DSC is said to be the best in Delhi.
- They have faculty members with more than 40 years of educational experience.
- They are cooperative and will guide you through the subject's tougher portions.
- The overall infrastructure and maintenance of the campus has improved a lot.
- The college canteen provides healthy food items at a reasonable price.
- Here you will be learning amongst some of the best minds.
- The only thing that needs some improvement is the internet connection. The whole campus is wifi enabled but has several connectivity issues.
- The placement is also good. They have a dedicated placement cell as well.
The science group in DSC is considered to be one of the best. They provide proper training and exposure which will ultimately help your career.
All the mentioned colleges are good in their own way. But it is important to know the college is not important but your approach towards your course.
B.Com (Hons.) is a very prestigious course and it demands a great deal of dedication and concentration. Getting admission to any of these colleges means that your interest is genuine.
Consider enrolling yourself into any of the professional courses also as the syllabus for professional courses and B.Com (Hons) are quite similar. Go for ICWA due to the fact that it does not have the requirement of articles.
These 3 years in college will shape up your career ahead. If you score good marks and understand all the concepts and are truly invested in the subject, then after a while the college name would not matter, as your skills and knowledge will be given more precedence.
