The National Institute of Engineering - [NIE]

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore, was established in 1946. It became affiliated with the University of Mysore (UoM) in 1950.

From the academic year 2022-23, NIE Mysore operates on two campuses: NIE North Campus and NIE South Campus. The institute received accreditation from AICTE in 1986.

Since 1998, NIE has been affiliated with VTU for seven undergraduate programs. In 2020, NIE received NAAC accreditation with a B++ grade, valid for five years.

According to The Week, NIE Mysore's BE/BTech program ranks 18th out of 245 colleges in India in 2024. In 2023, the same program ranked 43rd out of 131 colleges in India.

The institute holds AICTE accreditation and NAAC accreditation with a B++ grade. These accreditations reflect the institute's compliance with national educational standards.

NIE Mysore offers 7 undergraduate programs and 10 postgraduate programs. The available programs include BE, M.Tech, PhD, and MCA.

The flagship course at NIE is the Bachelor of Engineering (BE). The total fee for the BE program is INR 10.66 lakhs.

Admissions to NIE Mysore are based on CET, COMEDK, and a management quota. Candidates must appear for the relevant entrance exam to be considered for admission.

For the management quota, the admission process is separate from the CET and COMEDK pathways. Each admission route has its own criteria and procedure.
