Overview of NIE Mysore

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE), Mysore, was established in 1946. It became affiliated with the University of Mysore (UoM) in 1950.

From the academic year 2022-23, NIE Mysore operates on two campuses: NIE North Campus and NIE South Campus. The institute received accreditation from AICTE in 1986.

Since 1998, NIE has been affiliated with VTU for seven undergraduate programs. In 2020, NIE received NAAC accreditation with a B++ grade, valid for five years.

According to The Week, NIE Mysore's BE/BTech program ranks 18th out of 245 colleges in India in 2024. In 2023, the same program ranked 43rd out of 131 colleges in India.
