NIT Rourkela has released the admission schedule for 2026. The dates cover B.Tech, M.Tech, MBA, and M.Sc programs. The MBA admission process is currently underway.

For B.Tech, admission is through JEE Main scores and JoSAA counselling. The registration and choice filling for JoSAA counselling starts on June 2, 2026, and ends on June 11, 2026. The first round of seat allotment is on June 13, 2026. The last round of seat allotment mentioned is Round 5 on July 16, 2026.

For M.Tech, admission is based on a valid GATE score through CCMT counselling. CCMT registration and choice filling is from May 15 to June 5, 2026. The first round of seat allotment is on June 12, 2026. A special round 2 seat allotment is on July 27, 2026. The national spot round registration is from August 1 to August 4, 2026, with seat allotment on August 5, 2026.

For the MBA program, the Department of Management Studies (DOMS) is conducting admissions. The registration timeline was from January 5 to February 23, 2026. The shortlist for GD/PI was announced on March 2, 2026. The GD and personal interview were held on March 18-19, 2026. The result was announced on March 30, 2026. For the Executive MBA, the last date to apply has been extended to July 6, 2026. The interview is on July 16, 2026, and the result will be announced on July 17, 2026. Classes commence on July 24, 2026.

For M.Sc, admission is based on IIT JAM scores followed by CCMN counselling. CCMN registration and choice filling is from May 15 to June 5, 2026. The first round of seat allotment is on June 12, 2026. A special round 2 seat allotment is on July 27, 2026. The national spot round registration is from August 1 to August 4, 2026, with seat allotment on August 5, 2026.

For B.Tech, the JEE Main exam dates are also listed. Session 1 exam is from January 21 to 28, 2026. Session 2 exam is from April 2 to 8, 2026.
