Distinguished Alumni Award 2026 – National Institute of Technology Calicut
The National Institute of Technology Calicut (NITC) presents the Distinguished Alumni Award (DAA) every year to recognise the professional achievements and contributions of its alumni. The award honours alumni who have shown sustained excellence in their careers, are leaders in their fields, or have made a substantial impact on society.
Award Categories
The DAA has seven categories. Each category recognises a different type of excellence.
- Category A – Technology Innovation Excellence
- Category B – Academic Excellence
- Category C – Managerial Excellence
- Category D – Entrepreneurial Excellence
- Category E – Excellence in Public Services and other walks of Life
- Category F – Excellence in Institutional Development and Alma mater services
- Category G – Emerging Alumni Leader Award (for alumni who graduated within the last 20 years)
Important Dates
The last date for submission of the DAA 2026 application or nomination under all categories is 20 March 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
An individual must have made significant contributions that are widely recognised under the concerned category to be considered for the award. Any alumnus who has successfully completed any program of study from the Institute is eligible.
Nominations for posthumous awards will not be considered. An alumnus who is currently an employee of NIT Calicut is not eligible during the service period, except for a truly outstanding achievement of the highest order that is widely recognised.
How to Apply
Self-applications or nominations by fellow alumni can be submitted online. Each application must be endorsed by at least two persons from the following group.
- Present and former faculty members of the Institute, except faculty involved in the screening and selection process
Separate applications or nominations must be submitted for each category of the DAA. An individual may apply or be nominated in multiple categories.
