On 30th July 2026 VJTI had the privilege of organizing the "Drug Free Mumbai" Awareness Programme, an initiative of the Government of Maharashtra in the Krantijyoti Savitribai Phule Auditorium. The programme dedicated to spreading awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and inspiring youth to lead healthy, responsible lives.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from our students and faculty, who joined the live inaugural event and collectively took the Anti-Drug Abuse Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to staying away from narcotic substances, creating awareness in society, supporting those affected with empathy, and contributing towards a healthier and safer nation.

As educators, we believe that our role extends beyond imparting knowledge. It is equally important to instill values, social responsibility, and informed decision-making among our students. Initiatives like these empower young minds to become ambassadors of positive change.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all the students, faculty members, NSS volunteers, and organizing team for their wholehearted participation and support in making this programme successful.

Together, every pledge taken today is a step towards a stronger, healthier, and Drug-Free Mumbai.

On 9th June 2026, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), Mumbai, marked an important milestone towards digital transformation and smarter campus management. An MoU was signed for the implementation of the ToiletSeva 2.0 Monitoring System on a pilot basis, focusing on technology-driven cleanliness monitoring, efficient reporting, and improved accountability. This collaboration reflects VJTI’s commitment towards innovation, sustainability, and adopting smart solutions for better campus facilities. By integrating technology into daily operations, the initiative aims to enhance efficiency, transparency, and overall campus experience. A significant step forward in building a cleaner, smarter, and digitally enabled campus environment through innovation and collaboration.

On Monday, 08th June 2026, Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute hosted a workshop on the “SIEMENS Centre of Excellence”. The workshop was graced by eminent dignitaries including Shri. Venugopal Reddy (Additional Chief Secretary, Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Maharashtra), Dr. Vinod Mohitkar (Director, Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State), Dr. Sachin Kore (Director, VJTI Mumbai), Dr. Sunil Bhirud (Vice Chancellor, COEP Technological University, Pune) and Dr. S. S. Dambhare (Principal, Government College of Engineering, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar) along with delegates from participating institutes.Experts from Siemens delivered insightful sessions emphasizing the importance of Industry–Institute Interaction and the role of Siemens in enhancing teaching, skill development, innovation, and research activities in technical institutions. The workshop also included discussions on the roadmap for establishing Centres of Excellence in participating institutes to promote industry-oriented education and advanced research capabilities.

On the occasion of International Environmental Day, the Department of Technical & Applied Chemistry organized a Plantation programme on 5th June 2026. The programme was conducted with great enthusiasm to spread awareness about environment protection and the importance of plantation. The event was graced by the presence of respected faculty members including Dr. M. R. Shirole (Associate Dean Infrastructure), Dr. S. K. Bhil, Dr. S.A. Khedekar, Prof. M. S. Thorat (Head of T & A Chemistry Dept.) , Dr. Priya Deshpande, Dr.Pankaj Pardeshi,Dr.Amar Vibhandik, Prof. Minakshi Chaure, Prof. Shilbhadra Kadam, Dr. Sachin Sonawane, Dr. Santosh Gadekar, Dr. Avinash Jadhav, Dr. Pratik Dhumal , Mr. Vijay K. Hirvani & Rishab school student . All faculty members and participants actively took part in the plantation activity and conveyed the message of environmental sustainability.
