Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree required.
• Part-A (CU Candidates Only)
  • 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) graduates from Calcutta University.
• Part-B
  • 5-year B.A. LL.B. (Hons.): CU or Non-CU
  • 5-year B.A. LL.B. (without Hons.): CU or Non-CU
  • 3-year LL.B. degree: CU or Non-CU
• Other equivalent law qualifications recognized by the University.

Admission Process

• Apply once online and select all 5 participating institutions in your preferred order. Separate applications are not required.
• Part-A (50% seats):
  • For CU BA LL.B. (Hons.) graduates. Merit is based on 50% LL.B. marks + 50% CULET-PG score.
• Part-B (50% seats):
  • For all other eligible candidates. Merit is based only on the CULET-PG score.
• CULET-PG is mandatory for all applicants: CBT mode, 100 MCQs, 100 marks, 2 hours, +1 for each correct answer, −0.25 for each wrong answer.
• If allotted a higher-preference institution, lower preferences are automatically cancelled, while higher unallotted preferences remain active for later rounds.
• Tie-breaking: Candidates with fewer incorrect answers rank higher. If still tied, higher B.A. LL.B. percentage is considered.
• Part-A candidates are also included in the Part-B merit list. If selected under both at the same preference, the Part-A seat is allotted.

Refund of Admission Fees

Per UGC guidelines, CU follows this fee-refund schedule on withdrawal:
